I am holding since Jan 2017, can wait a year more.. Ripple comes almost everyday with more news, momentum is building, the company is growing fast, the name Ripple becomes a " Household name".... The Fud about XRP is growing what means that the fear of it is also growing.(lol)
So the price now is not my concern. 99% is speculative and based on the performance of BITCOIN, and not of XRP. When the banks, hedgefunds and financial institutes are gowing to use XRP then the value will increase. Till then.... wait...

When Bitconnect went down, nothing happened to total market. When NEM hack was published, nothing happened(530 million NEM). When Tether is going down, nothing will happen, its not big enough. (2.2 Billion dollar now) Its simply to small to have an impact on a 400 Billion market(0.5%) So forget your fears for that. What we need is a professional market with steady coins like XRP, XLM, LTC, ETH, etc etc... Networks which grow and add businesses behind them. Every coin must have a USP, otherwise they will die. We need more regulation against all those scam and ponzi coins like Dentacoin and others. We need clear regulation against all those crappy ICO's done by criminals and nerds which hasn't a clue about marketing and running a real business. We need professional media who doesn't copy past a story without checking it (Coindesk, Bloomberg, NYtimes, etc) We need to educate the newbies how to act in the crypto world. Then we will have less volatile movements because professional investors don't panic when they read a FUD story published by BLOOMBERG about India, which was completely wrong.
I am a very happy Ripple investor since January 2017. I strongly belief in XRP..... Lately the amount of good news is almost unbelievable but the price didn't went up. Is this a problem for Ripple? NO, its the immaturity of the crypto market. The fact that large numbers of people spending so much time on bashing Ripple and XRP, while they don't spend a minute on networks like Onecoin, Bitconnect, USI-tech, Tezos, Dentacoin and other failed and scammed projects. Its also immaturity of the market.
This immaturity and market manipulation of Bitcoin is the great cause of the crash lately(thats my opinion). 99% out there are emotion driven traders. And the professional traders know this and use it to their advantage. Something what is clearly forbidden in the stockmarkets! But it is happening and hurting everybody. I am a long term player so i only see profit going down. But if you are new and get aboard late December 2017, it will hurt much...
