T8493
GateHub is not an exchange and - generally speaking - they don't control your Ripple account. Only police can help them, not GateHub. GateHub can't do anything except provide info to the police. GateHub can't refund XRPs because they don't have any proof that your friends didn't send "stolen" XPRs to other accounts intentionally. I once thought I had my xrp stolen because I went into the wrong gatehub wallet. Make sure that isn't the issue. Also, if you're using windows, there is more inherent risk with that operating system when going online than using linux or MacOS.

Question - I have a toast wallet on my iPhone and have linked it to my GateHub account. I keep substantially all of my XRP on the toast wallet because of the FUD out there around online exchanges and whatnot. Can someone hack my GateHub account and gain all of the XRP in my Toast Wallet?

Can someone hack my GateHub account and gain all of the XRP in my Toast Wallet? No idea. I've never looked at the Toast Wallet and I don't have coding background, but I would guess that one of the least safest places to store cryptos is on a cell phone because cell phones were designed to reach people (be online often either via cell towers, wi-fi, public hot-spots (don't use these!), etc.), not be secure communication devices to be used online only when transacting with cryptos. This will likely change in the future as cryptos go mainstream and cell phones become the de facto primary instrument by which the masses will interact with cryptos. Also, you can lose your cell phone, and then 2FA will work against you if you have it enabled for that phone. It's best to use a cold storage solution. It will buy you time so that if and when your xrp go up in value, by that time you will have likely researched enough and there will be enough user wallet options available to the masses so that removing your xrp safetly to an exchange and trading back to fiat won't be a significant security risk, particularly when compared to the present available options. Gatehub is not a hosted wallet, they provide you an individual private wallet with a unique private key. Also, their gateway to the XRP network with decent options to exchange various digital assets is pretty solid !!!
