Xi195
I haven't checked in on the W3C public Interledger mailing list for some time and just dropped by to see what's happening. It's really interesting to see Adrian Hope-Baille going back and forth with fellow Ripple employees Evan Schwartz (ILP inventor) and Ben Sharifian on developing the Interledger Protocol. For the uninitiated, Intereledger is working with the W3C to develop a web payments standard built on ILP. You can find out more here: https://www.w3.org/community/interledger/ You can also follow the public email thread here: https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-interledger/2017Jul/ Here are the partial discussions which involve some passionate back and forths between the Ripple peers:https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-interledger/2017Aug/0049.htmlhttps://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-interledger/2017Aug/0030.html Lastly, if you are wondering how banks could be utilizing technology that is not yet developed, the answer is that there are two Interledger Protocols. #1 is the private version which Ripple has developed internally. #2 is the public version being developed as an open standard. Thanks to David Schwartz's comments here on this forum, we know that #1 will likely merge with #2 over time as the public community-driven protocol develops.
