Unable to send XRP from offline wallet

Hi. I've been trying to send XRP from my offline XRP wallet off/on now for a few weeks now and have not been successful.  When I first bought the XRP from the exchange and sent the XRP to the offline wallet, I was having trouble as well.  This time, however, it seems that I'm getting a consistent error.  I've been trying to use the ripple client at https://jatchili.github.io/minimalist-ripple-client/ and keep getting the same error:

Transaction finalized with error:  {"result":"tejMaxLedger","result_message":"Transaction LastLedgerSequence exceeded","engine_result":"tejMaxLedger","engine_result_message":"Transaction LastLedgerSequence exceeded","message":"Transaction LastLedgerSequence exceeded"}

This error I get even if I'm not sending the total balance in the wallet.  I have no trust lines or anything like that and even if I attempt to send 20 XRP less, I get the same error.

I'm wondering if I'm sending the correct number.  If the wallet balance is 899972999, and I try to send 879.972999 on the form (assuming the correct receiving wallet/tag), should the transaction go through without error?  Please help.  I feel like my XRP is stuck there with no way for me to trade/use it.  TIA.

Looking a bit closer I see a sequence is mentioned...   are you aware that the ledger has transaction sequence numbers and it's possible for a offline wallet to be unaware of trans that happened not through it...

So you may need to update the wallets transaction number.

Hi Tinyaccount. No I'm only using windows machine. What would I use to update the wallet's transaction number? Is there a tool or utility? I was able to find some strange transactions that look like failures when I was first trying to move things out and that caused me to lose small amounts of XRP.  But since that day, I keep getting the LastLedgerSequence error.  Any guidance is appreciated.  Thanks!

I'm not the best person to advise....  I know only little bits about some things...  and never the bits that help...   :)

But until someone better comes along...    The account has a transaction number against each tran...  Starting at one (I think).  You can see the transactions using an explorer like https://bithomp.com/explorer/ ( other maybe more detailed explorers exist )

The transaction number on bithomp is reverse order I think...  but just count them up and that should be the number in your wallet...  Eg 3 if you have got three trans on that account.  I'm not familiar with your wallet but somewhere in settings it should let you set the current transaction number to 3.  If it's designed to be used offline it will be aware it might be out of synch with the online Ledger so it must have a way to get back in synch.

Try that.   If it fails try either side of 3 (using 3 as an example...   your number may differ)

If a wallet expert comes along I'm sure they can sort it for you, but that's something to try in the meanwhile...

You can find seq. nr. here, using your public address :

https://ripple.com/build/websocket-tool/#account_info  (sequence result)

or

http://rippleok.com/ (top left after inserting your address)

I hope that helps a bit

Thank you both for the tips.  I've looked up my address and have found the sequence number 7, but I'm still unable to determine how to update the offline wallet transaction number.

The wallet is rnEQfBr2K5Xs5QNDA2MmDED6TvC3g97AbR so if anyone can help me figure out how to fix this issue, this newbie would really appreciate the guidance. TIA

Buttttt if you did a lookup of the SID then all you need to do is edit text file. In the first few lines is the sequence number. It MUST be the next number after the one which you look up. Save the file and then send the transaction on the hot computer.

From memory the offline wallet software has a settings tab or a button...  one of the things you can set is transaction number.  Set it there.  Then make the transaction... it will ask where to put it... tell it the usb key location.  Then fill in the transaction and it saves a encrtypted text file to the usb.  Now take that and put in online pc and import the transaction into the online wallet software.  Then use a browser explorer to look at the account and you will see the transaction happened.  My advice is dont put that usb key back ever into the offline... always use a new unused usb stick for the offline PC.  They are cheap in the on-sale bins.
