Which wallet to use.

I was thinking maybe since everyone here is from different parts of the world they can speak about which wallets they use and why just to keep this subject in the forefront because there's new things being developed daily it seems.

I personally keep mine on the kraken exchange however I just ordered a nano ledger s because that's what was recommended most from what I've been reading.

Thanks everyone for participating.

i use gatehub -- im from london & it works perfectly fine;  a notice to anyone using bitstamp to store xrp move it to gatehub

Where's the guarantee that gatehub does not store your secret key?

Where's the guarantee that your PC wasn't infected when you opened your account on gatehub and everything wasn't recorded?

1) Gatehub terms of service: "Your Ripple Wallet is protected from unauthorized access and use by others via a secret key and password held by you alone. GateHub does not have access to your secret keys (we store them in an encrypted state). All account information except these secret keys can be restored."

2) i have a mac. :)

nothing will happen, and nothing is completely 100% safe. just do with what resonates with you but dont be shady to those that use a system theyre comfortable with.

Per user requests, I have written up a quick guide for the new investors about how to properly secure your Wallets. It is in PDF format and all questions are welcome. It is quite long and actually I got to the point where I was writing articles and then reusing them, so posting the article here, does not help others in other forums.  Here ya go.

https://xilobyte.com/media/Securing_Your_Crypto_Wallet.pdf

Which I found by typing "Xilobyte wallet" in the search bar at top right of this page and selecting "all content" as the search scope.

Never keep your coins on an exchange long term, you don't even own them, all you have is an IOU from the exchange. If you want the best security currently available, get yourself a nano s.

If you browse this forum you will see a "Our Picks" button that lists significant posts.   There is more good information available in those tutorials and interesting threads.

So "we do not have your secret keys" buuuuut "we store them in an encrypted state."

Xilobyte runs a wallet storage service too and guess what, i have the encryption keys that all data is encrypted with. Reason is because I am root and designed the entire system. The difference between us and Gatehub is that i reveal and make public, the identities of every agent which handle your money to include myself. Find a real human that accepts resposibility on Gatehub. If you can not find one, then something is wrong.

The implication that they are protecting you wallets with "secret keys" is poor. The only acceptable method to store a client's wallet is via cold storage and with manual tranactions.
