Recovering lost SnapSwap transfer

Hi there I am hoping someone can offer me some advice.

I recently (two months ago) had to convert my ripple account to Gatehub. Upon completion the wallet reflected accurately what my NET balance was. But, now that I am trying to trade / etc I see the BTC i had entrusted to SnapSwap is in Limbo.

My question is can I recover this BTC? Would removing the line  of trust reinstate the balance. I am at a loss as to what to do as I nested the BTC here knowing i'd be back at a later date (two years later) to get them.

Please any advice you can give would be appreicated.

Snapswap is no longer operational. You may try to contact btc2ripple, but they don't seem to be honoring the ious. If you are in an EU, file a police report or a claim to business watchdog against the company. Perhaps it will move things for you.

Thanks! I was afraid that was the case.  Appreciate the direction :)

Based on what I have read here...am I correct is assuming there's great difficulty or that it's impossible to retrieve my XRP balance from the old SnapSwap (I bought XRP from SnapSwap in Jan. 2014) I am a USA resident. When I type in my Ripple Address in www.bithomp.com I see the correct balance there.
