Warg
Hello. I receive my Nano S a few days ago and have been having some issues getting it to work properly. The ledgerwallet.com company in the support window says it takes 2-3 weeks to get a response to a query due to huge demand. So perhaps a fellow zerper can help. So I installed the "Ledger Wallet Ripple" app on my Win10 computer. Then I needed to download the chrome browser so I could download the "Ledger Manager" app in order for me to be able to download the Ripple Wallet to the Nano. I did all these steps, even though I had some issues when I was trying to download the Ripple Wallet from the Ledger Manager. It took my a few restarts before I could download the Ripple Wallet app to my Nano. I also disabled the browser support on the nano. But somehow the next step is where it doesn't work. Now when I start the Ledger Wallet Ripple on my computer and then connect the Nano but it gets stuck at the text, like it's trying to open it saying: "Opening your wallet... Please wait, this may take a few moments." I tried restarting everything multiple times but I haven't created another setup on the Nano S because I think I did everything correct. Also, on the Ledger Manager (the chome app) where you can download wallets to your nano, I can't delete any apps or download any new ones either. It just says "unable to remove application" Thanks for any insight into this issue. Warg
EBB1898
I've had a similar intermittent issue. I found if you open the desktop app first, and then activate your nano, it seems to work fine. Hopefully this helps.

Make sure the exchange you use supports this procedure. I was about the transfer 20 XRP from Bittrex before noticing they don't allow you to fund a zero balance address. I've tried everything many times, in different orders, it just doesn't open the wallet in the app. I'm thinking maybe I've missed some installation or step, but I've followed all instructions. I have the Wallet on the PC, I have the app on the Nano. Also, regarding the initial deposit, I was thinking of using Gatehub and send more than 20XRP as the first transaction, that should work right? EBB1898
That's strange, sorry really not sure in that case. I've personally never used Gatehub i'm afraid. Definitely a good idea to transfer the 20XRP first to make sure everything is in order, and then transfer the rest after you have received the initial 20. Warg
Good idea. Will do that after I get it working. I think I will just reset the device.... I'm out of options I feel like.
Warg
I solved it. I just wiped it and then all apps were gone and it worked. Which makes me wonder if someone else had been using the nano before me since it came pre installed with 3 wallets in the device. Bitcoin, ETH and a third obscure crypto. Anyway, should work now, so I'm happy. Thanks for taking the time for helping out! Keep zerping brother! one_giant_leap

Guest
Also does the person who owned the Bitcoin etherium etcetera know that for a while you had access to their funds?

I bought the Nano from Ledger directly - new. But when I set it up as a new device (24 secret words and all), there were 3 wallet apps installed. After I wiped it and set it up as a new device again, then the Nano was really wiped, no apps installed and then I didn't have any issues. So, I'm not sure if the Nano S arrives with 3 apps installed in it as a pre setting or if it was just mine who had it, making me think that it was from an old customer. Perhaps others can cofirm whether their nano came completely empty after setting it up the first time.
Guest
I look forward to hearing from other owners.. I would assume it comes empty. Why would you want to use a wallet that was preinstalled and that someone else knows the key to? So I will be very surprised if it comes with pre-installed... but I could easily be wrong... I often am.
Guest
I have a nano s and it came preinstalled with bitcoin, ether and litecoin, they all do. I installed the xrp wallet from the ledger manager app. Sometimes when I got to open my wallet, I see the same screen, and the wallet doesn't open. The trick is to unplug your nano s, open the wallet, and when prompted then plug in your nano s and put in your password. So I am wrong again. i know nothing of the other coins so probably their wallet keys etc are a different deal than a Ripple one.... I wouldn't use a pre-installed Ripple wallet...
