Would this apply to ripple based IOU's? I am thinking of RippleFox's FMM IOU, not sure if it would be considered an independent asset as it is a market making pool or perhaps an indicator of the health of the ripple network vs its main asset XRP

Good point. I think we could add IOUs that are created to be like token on the Ripple network. FMM is a good example.. We might see more of that.
