Hodor
meh... maybe I should be more concerned, but "trend analysis" really doesn't set off any panic alarm bells for me. I'd actually question it if they were not doing some trend analysis on crypto-currencies. BBS and Mercury
TLG
I could only skim it as im at work, but i wouldnt be too worried.... they use the word illicit alot, which in my mind refer's to bitcoin's use on black market (no bitcoin hate). Ripple/XRP has been anything BUT illicit from what i can see, being in the open like they are..... if anything, a crackdown would probably just reduce the amount of competitors? Hodlezerper
I read an article around here suggesting this was targeted primarily at Russia, Iran and North Korea. Hodor and Legolas 1
Quintree
Bad title. The measure says nothing about cracking down. They are just going to monitor crypto more closely. And of course they are. You think if crypto actually becomes more useful for buying things in the real world that the US government is going to allow US fiat to flow into bitcoin which is then laundered to buy arms for somebody like ISIS? Not. Legolas
Graine
Crackdown? Pff, when you'll read articles about FBI/SSA seizing mining equipment for "counterfeiting money surrogate", "engaging in unlawful enterprise", "disrupting national security with cryptographic hardware". Then you can say about crackdown. Hodor
