jp2017
I believe that ~66 Billion is being held by Ripple. Those xrps held by the founders are part of the ~ 33 Billion that out in the wild.. If I remember correctly, Jed had like ~9 Billion xrp..CL ~7 Billion xrp and Arthur Bitto ~3 Billion xrp.. CL donated a large portion of his xrp to Ripple Works, the non-profit foundation that is to serve the underbanked and financially underserved. Your distribution figures are much more detailed than mine, time to update my post. Yes, I made up the page but anyone can edit it. Japanese Ripple community is sharing the information and I'm updating the webpage. We are talking about Ripple on 2ch.net(BBS) and it might be why most traffic to ripple.com is from 2ch. http://www.similarweb.com/website/ripple.com#social You can also find the history of Ripple here. http://info.2ch.net/index.php/Ripple%E7%B7%8F%E5%90%88%E3%81%BE%E3%81%A8%E3%82%81#Ripple.E3.81.AE.E6.AD.B4.E5.8F.B2 I think it's not difficult to translate it to English for you. Japanese Ripple community is always attacked by Bitcoin evangelists of Japan. They are always spreading a rumor that XRP will be removed from RCL. So Ripple's brand is seriously damaged in Japan. They are also collapsing the threads of Ripple on 2ch.net. These guys are very suspicious.

What I know is about Tetsuyuki Oishi, who names a "commissioner" of Japan Digital Money Association.http://www.digitalmoney.or.jp/ He is publishing some books about Bitcoin as "Tetsuyuki Oishi" but he already changed his name of the residence registry to "Hiroshi Sato". He logically explains the reason why XRP is worthless in public. He tweeted that Ripple would make another version of Ripple, which doesn't have XRP because XRP is making FIs difficult to use Ripple. He is also posting an article titled "The reason why Ripple's XRP is fundamentally worthless".http://doublehash.me/ripple-xrp/ His another opinion is that FIs don't need to use XRP because they can make their own IOU on Ripple and can use it instead of XRP. "I am not anti Ripple but I am anti XRP" he said as well.http://doublehash.me/permissioned-blockchain-midium-currency/ "You should not think that current Ripple network and XRP are integral with Ripple. They might be one today but it is not unassured in the future."http://doublehash.me/rippletrade-to-closed/ I don't get what he really want to say. But, from the wording, I think he is taunting Ripple. So I strongly suggest Ripple to warn him 'cause he is a very popular guy in this field. So you think he significantly affects XRP speculation in Japan? I expect he feels he has legitimate criticisms and concerns, as do some members of this forum, in that XRP may NOT end up being very useful as a bridging unit (for whatever reason, there are many posited). I don't really have an opinion on this per say. I just feel like XRP could be a great solution and addition to a DL, yet might not get the take-up we expect/hope from serious market makers and FIs for legitimate business/regulatory reasons – and of course that's totally the clients' choice not to use XRP. In other words, the market alone will ultimately prove XRP if it has a future, not idealism. Edited January 28, 2016 by rippledigital

Thank you in advance. He is making up several reasons in his articles. So it is compositive and complicated. Simply, he explains that it is not necessary to use Ripple and XRP for banks and FIs. "banks can fork Ripple" "they can use Ripple in part" "it can be like blah-blah-blah" "banks are likely to do blah-blah-blah" Something like that. The problem is that he is doing it with insistence as if it is truth.
