Issue using Exchange on Gatehub

Recommended Posts

I created a hosted wallet and transferred from Coinbase some BTC that I intend to use to buy ripple. When I go to Exchange, I get a note that I need a ripple wallet to use Exchange. Do you know why I am receiving this note? I have a wallet and I believe it is activated. Bithomp shows that my wallet is activated. I'd appreciate any help.

Gatehub doesn't have an exchange. Their wallet uses the XRP ledger's built in distributed exchange. It's difficult to support that for hosted wallets, so I suspect they only support it for native wallets. If Bithomp shows your wallet activated, then you should be able to use the exchange. Is that wallet the account holding the BTC?

The reason should be this:

Seeing the fork as happened they have blocked BTC deposit\w. and I really hope we will get our promised BCH (BitCoin Cash) too even if BCH trustline is not available yet.

Thanks @JoelKatz. My BTC are in the hosted wallet I created. Should I just move it over to the "My Wallet" I was issued when I signed up for Gatehub? And then use Bithomp to fund the initial required amount in the "My Wallet"? Maybe that is the solution.

When I mean exchange, I mean the "Exchange" feature shown on the left-hand side of the Gatehub portal; the feature that lets you exchange currency in your wallet for xrp.
