Guest
I added this to the calendar a couple days ago, but I wanted to post to make sure anyone interested in the call sees it: I'm going to try to make the call and will post notes if I do. So, I would appreciate any highlights you can post on this thread. Thanks,

Guest Haydentiff
Hopefully Karlos will come along and give a better update. I was a little disheveled (we were on the phone -using an app I hadn't installed yet, and using IRC, which I managed to stumble into the wrong room, lol). Anyway, it was mostly a meet and greet. I think there was ~20 people, which I'm told was a good turn out. I've never joined a W3 group before, but I guess ~100 total members is great (too many and it becomes difficult to reach consensus). All of the constantly emailing drives me nuts because I am not able to organize the information. There is a Wiki and GitHub for the group, but I asked if we could also use something like Slack. I'm not a huge fan of Slack, but it was the only thing that came to mind and anything is better than a constant flow of emails. I think we might look at other alternatives. I asked about a road map. We've got reference code now, so next up will be documenting use cases and API's. There is a Web Paymen Group meeting for W3C members -Feb 22-24. I don't know if everyone else is a W3C member (I'm not). They were discussing having a face to face meeting for the Interledger group after that meeting, possibly on the 25th. I asked about goals, specifically advocacy. I feel a sense of urgency to tell people about ILP, but I guess that's just me. For advocacy it was said -"it's a goal, but we want to make sure we get the right specifications. also up for discussion who the right stakeholders are. going to do use cases first." There will be another call before the face to face meeting next month and that call will have an agenda (TBD).
Guest
A couple things to add on top of what Tiffany already mentioned: - In between looking at use cases (next few months) and API documentation (later on, once implementations begin) is agreeing upon cryptographic conditions for ILP. - Adrian mentioned that a standard slide deck or video or something similar could be produced for ILP advocacy. - One of the goals for the next year is to get at least one Interledger specification ("recommendation track document" in W3C parlance) out of the Interledger Community Group by the October 2016 TPAC. - As has been discussed on the mailing list, Bob Way of Ripple mentioned payment as the last part of a business transaction that completes the business transaction circle and said that how ILP relates to the rest of the business transaction cycle is important and should also be discussed. deemdior
I get a feeling about this all as if it is a second RCL. A great idea and invention realised, but developed without a real question from the market. And once its completely developed we'll see who wants it. Do you think that "smell" is an emotion? The unknown speaker was Heather Vescent. She's really interesting: http://www.heathervescent.com/heathervescent/biography.html
Morty
@Haydentiff Well, there are some weirdos that make an emotional connection with the smell of money. The worst smelling money I've ever encountered was in Congo. It was filthy, I didn't even want to touch the stuff.

I think you summed it up nicely, I dont think theres much to add except Adrian was very good at keeping the discussion moving forward
