What coin for long-term investment beside XRP ?

Recommended Posts

In my personal opinion, there are two types of coins.

Functional coins: XRP and STR (Stellar Lumens)

Bitcoin''s alternatives: Ethereum and Litecoin.

They are the two twins that I consider for my long-term investment. It means years, not just weeks or days as many guys here expect a price skyrocketing.

STR is dirt cheap which is an important factor for me. If it goes to a couple of USD, we're good.

Could youb pls give some reasons to buy Stellar Lumens?

Also, where do you hold them, which wallet?

Thank you

IMO it is a good idea to invest part in top market cap coins diversifying by functionality (BTC->store of value, ETH->Dapp, XRP->payments) and part in promising ones with similar functionality (LTC, EOS, IOTA)

I an see through their introduction that Stellar is very similar to Ripple. But technically, I do not really understand deeply but a conception of something instant transfer between individuals instead of banks like that of Ripple.

Why?

its not blochchain, i find blockchain has a lot of limitations, no scaling, free transactions, its based on machine to machine transactions, it grows as the network grows, etcc. security is the issue, plus it has serious backers and a good development team, if it can implement itself in the internet of things it will be serious

I think that IOTA is going to do really well.  They have had a bunch of great news about partnerships and foundations recently and these are solid not just some news for just the shake of releasing news.  During the recent crash, the prices of MIOTA seemed to be the most stable and going up nicely during the last couple of days.  I regretted to sell more than half of my holdings to buy others and XRPs but...

XRP for sure.... This is the king of values and has significant momentum going into August.  You know what I meant...  My lion share of investment is on XRP and I am here for a reason.

XRL is another safe bet that plays into the popularity of XRP in the very near future (supposed they can carry out what they said)

NEO/ANT, I have heard more and more about this one and this is the ETH of China so it does not hurt to put some money in this one....

I also favor anything that is no POW because POW sucks to the environment and you do not need to burn money to make money.  Please try to be conscious investors and make money in the process.....

I recommend you to read about decentralized storage with blockchain. It's interesting and I think could be a good longterm bet.

I am invested in Storj. But there are also other solutions: (maidsafe, siacoin..)

Siacoin.... yeah, aren't they just providing storage space? dropbox style?

I am not really into the sia tech. But decentralized storage means that not they provide the storage space, it's more like the data is split on multiple nodes in a network.

With Storj.io your client can share free harddisk space with the network. Better than dropbox...

I prefer coins with a very clear and easy to understand case. As soon as it's too difficult to explain the reason Why or as soon as it's value is based on possible use 3 years down the road, speculation becomes hoping for bigger fools to buy.

For me the two kings are:

bitcoin: an easy to understand use case: proven store of value. It has proven it's value in Venezuela and is really accepted as an alternative to hedge stocks, bonds and hyperinflation of fiat currency and banks going bankrupt.

xrp: also an easy to understand use case: an asset which value is paired with fiat currency (I expect painting with crypto in the future too) and it's value can be transmitted real time 24/7.

Both fulfil real needs for a real world.

Currently I'm still busy analyzing other currencies. And to be honest: I'm not really convinced by other coins.
