Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex announced today that for its version 2.5.8 mobile app release for iOS they have enabled access to Ripple (XRP).

With XRP now approved by Apple for mobile applications, the exchange was quick to integrate it. The Ripple native asset will be available to trade against USD and BTC.

Note that Apple has a limited list of supported cryptocurrencies at this time. Currently, the iOS version supports USD, BTC, LTC, ETH, ETC, ZEC, and XRP.

Bitfinex says they are continuing to work with Apple to enable more currencies on the iOS app in a future release.

New in v. 2.5.8 for Android and iOS

– Ripple (XRP) pairs added to iOS
– Chart’s settings autosave
– New tickers navigator
– IOTA deposit (available only on Android)
– Currencies & Pairs management without authentication
– Minor fixes

A relatively brief Google search of "apple and Ripple" shows that XRP was among the "approved' cryptos back in Sept 2016. Along with The DAO... so clearly Apple knows how to choose um.

Yes I saw that too. Interesting though, looks like final approval just came in or something like that.

This is more awesome news... continued progress on more exchange liquidity every week.

Guys, you have to adhere to the Press guideline. Don't just make up any old title, use the article title. That way we won't have endless reposts, you can see if the article has already been posted just looking at the title.

Good point @karlos Let's try to keep the site a bit more clean!
