nocolonstillrollin
Hello everyone, I apologize in advance if this question has been answered before. Long story short, I was sent a large sum of XRP from a family member for me to do with as I please. I have some medical bills that really need attention, so I'm trying to cash some of the XRP out. They told me to sign up for Bitstamp and I was barely able to navigate that well enough to give them the info they needed to send me XRP. So now I have only a Bitstamp account with my XRP in there. Before this, I had never heard of any cryptocurrencies. My question now is what is the simplest way to turn this into USD? I've been reading a lot about wallets and other exchanges, but I can't wrap my head around all the hoops it looks like I need to jump through to turn any of this XRP into cash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
nvok
You are in the US, create a new account on kraken.com, get at least tier 2 verified, transfer XRP to your kraken account from bitstamp, add your bank's routing information, sell XRP (XRP/USD) and withdraw. Bitstamp might ask you where you got your XRP. You can trade there but I don't recommend withdrawal. Edited June 24, 2017 by nvok

Do you know where to do that exactly on Bitstamp? The routing number section seems different than with US banks.
nvok
Just now, nocolonstillrollin said: Do you know where to do that exactly on Bitstamp? There, you can copy the XRP address and tag you need to transfer XRP from Bitstamp to Kraken. Sending XRP from Bitstamp should be straightforward.
