Guest
OK so looking at: https://xrpcharts.ripple.com/#/xrp-markets total trade vol: $ 172,061,099.80 USD -- $ 205,065,402.48 USD now!!! that escalated quickly!!! as of writing we have: -- poloniex 35.9% -- coinone 33.7% -- xrp ledger 6.3% this is freaking awesome: less power to polo, coinone doing great, and xrp ledger finally getting some traction -- is that due to gatehub? Guest
hmm, i dunno -- great news as that is not sure if it's relevant to today's surge -- you might be right though the volume is still growing, and coinone is very close to overtaking polo... we should have a party when this happens

Question 1: Wouldn't XRP Ledger be THE place to by-pass a lot of the crypto-hopping requirements demanded by exchanges simply to buy XRP from a particular fiat, for example: CNY 2 XRP or USD to XRP, etc. instead of FiatX - BTC or ETH or xyz - to XRP? The crypto buying / selling process, because of rapid adoption in 2017, is burdened by exchanges. They try, sometimes get selfish and greedy, but they're not ready for another 2% - 5% increase in revenue coming into the crypto ecosystem in the last half of this year. Having XRP become the interface seems the logical way to make this space SCREAM with transaction throughput. It's the perfect ICO, don't you think? (okay, this was a question, too...rhetorical :-) ) Question 2: Is there a summary doc or "use case" option on the ledger to help the general (non-zerpers) figure out how to do this procedure? Links would be great! MBi

Links would be great! ripple consensus ledger (renamed 'xrp ledger' lately) is exactly for that, grounding xrp as a useful asset on a public facing ledger but fiat issuances prob won't travel too often over the xrp ledger, but go via private interledgers -- that's ok, it means what we'll see is an xrp PAYMENT going from A to B, and this will be a proxy swap for fiat changing hands off-ledger there will be some niche use cases and small-time trading that happens on the xrp ledger, but this is peanuts compared to the Big Money
panmores
Huge amounts of money flowing, which kind of relativizes the whales and manipulation theories. Very deep pockets needed to influence this market. MBi

The great news is Polo is consistently below 40% these days, with the occasional spike. Also, try switching the view to 1hr from 24hrs. You'll see Polo at 2nd or 3rd place a few times during the day.
