Why is it Gatehub just can't send a password reset email?

 

I have forgotten my password and misplaced my recovery key. This is mind blowing that there is no other way.

You did not really specify what is the only way. So it is hard to judge what you mean with "This is mind blowing that there is no other way."

There is always a trade-off between security and ease in (ab)use. If you do not value security, you should probably go to another exchange. There are probably exchanges that can email you your forgotten password in plain text. Gatehub does value security. Forgetting passwords, and misplacing recovery keys are not really smart, especially if it mentions that those are the only ways to recover your funds. So be more careful with those, and stop blaming exchanges for securing your funds.

There is an another way, if you saved your secret key you can just import it in Ripple desktop wallet: https://rippex.net/carteira-ripple.php#/

But I assume you didn't saved it. Remember desktop wallet is only as safe as your computer is, use an up-to-date antivirus and never share your secret key.

Not blaming, Of course I know I shouldn't have misplaced my revovery key and secret key. But yes this is mind blowing that there isn't another way to gain access to your account even with being able to verify the same information used to open the account.  Drivers License, Utility Bill and ect.

It is technically impossible for gatehub to change your password because your secret keys are encrypted with your old password and they would need your old password to decrypt them.

Thanks for explaining that to me. I do however know what word and characters used, But I can't remember the exact order I put them in.
