Lock up rumour

p14413

Recommended Posts

No, please don't go spreading this around more. It's a product of the rumour mill with info taken from what some people have read on this very forum, and not proper sources like Ripple themselves. The June date is purely a guess. Also whoever wrote it clearly doesnt have a good undertanding of how Ripple/XRP works. E.g.:

"The goal is to make the individual value of each XRP higher more precious over time."

It's not. The point of destroying a fraction of XRP each time is to improve security and prevent spamming the network - otherwise why not destroy 100 XRP with each transaction? The goal is to make the most liquid digital asset in the world, and value comes after that.

@p14413 I added 'rumour' to the title. Normally I would ask the thread creator to change a title, but a sensational title might get some too excited :P Please feel free to discuss.

Ripple may announce...

Or may not.
It is refreshing to see Ripple making ripples throughout general crypto community. But the advent of echo chamber of leveraged longers on bitcointalk et al that amplify and distort available information to make their position worth more than they already are is repulsive.

That said, more such news to come. Ripple has always had so much good news lately; who knows what other topic newcomers would pick off of xrpchat and carry it on other platforms.

I am pretty sure it was implied rather than confirmed on the lets talk payments article and a post from Miguel himself on here.

It is not 100% but I think you would struggle to find many people not in favour of it. Obviously it would be great for the value of XRP but more importantly all of the major currency's have supply or issuence strategy and not knowing is one of the potential factors that XRP isn't accepted on a wider scale by the crypto commuity
