if u got the secret key saved u can remove the current blocked (by lost password) account and create a new one with ur saved secret key.

Got the same problem.      Installed the wallet, bought some ripple, logged out.     On log back in, it appears there is no wallet file anywhere to access.    I didn't move anything after the creation of the account.          Can anyone tell me what these files look like so I can do a search?

For Rippex:

Default wallet name (unless you change it) when you create one is "wallet" with no file extension.

On my computer default folder where wallet is saved is :

C:\Program Files\Ripple Desktop Wallet

Make backup and use antivirus!

@SterlingBaxter

as long as you have secret key, the wallet file is not important. You can create another local wallet by importing your secret key again.

It would only be annoying if someone access your hard drive (example you sell your pc) and find your old wallet and try to decrypt it.

Btw, always use an antivirus, and better store your secret key safe on a device not connected to the internet or better printed on paper.

Thanks for the ideas.     This was created on the mac OS version.   Not sure if that had a role in the file being hidden or not created normally, or it ending up somewhere strange.    Literally made the wallet, deposited some ripple, and on first log back in, with the file selection button showing the wallet file name I chose, it simply could not locate it, and the directory also appears empty.    During my log-in I unfortunately copied over the secret key with addresses while doing some buying and didn't realize I had not had a chance to copy the secret key anywhere again.        That's why finding the file is more crucial in this case.    Fortunately I didn't make my major buy although it was still a few thousand ripple that I may now get to watch for eternity sitting there :)    Secret Key lesson learned

If all else fails I may make a video to show the rippex team as it doesn't matter how many new installs, or new accounts I make, the result is the same.

Hello, we had a user reporting this problem who was able to solve the issue by showing hidden files in macHD. He prevented this from happening again by choosing another location to save the wallet.

I did that and it gave me a totally new account.

Says I have to sent some xrp to it to activate it again.

Is there a way to restore the old account?
