loaded2107
I have an account with Gatehub.net. My XRP wallet was hacked and all XRP deposited into a wallet at poloniex.com. 153,637.9760 has been stolen in total. My address is: rhVkrYpSUmQBRdLMymmpCr3U3bQTtGbhbL It was sent to rBFcurjrg1F1sLDsAfYryK4SKTWKnEzEgv - an account that was not activated or authorised by me: https://bithomp.com/explorer/rBFcurjrg1F1sLDsAfYryK4SKTWKnEzEgv It was then immediately forwarded to another account which is still active: rPVMhWBsfF9iMXYj3aAzJVkPDTFNSyWdKy and registered with Poloniex. https://bithomp.com/explorer/rPVMhWBsfF9iMXYj3aAzJVkPDTFNSyWdKy I have informed the police (Action Fraud in UK)of this activity and wondered if anyone has had any joy recovering stolen XRP, and what would be the best course of action to take? Gatehub have been totally unhelpful sending a copy/paste reply about security. I have also submitted a ticket with Poloniex with this info. Welcome to the world of irreversible transactions in crypto. And where 90% of the funds goes to Poloniex, an unknown society in east europe founded by ???. I think your funds are gone, but you can try to ask Poloniex. Also the Police doesn't have any power in this. Closingbell2012
JoelKatz
I would definitely contact Poloniex immediately. They should know the identity of the recipient of the funds. You can contact law enforcement as well but it might be difficult to find someone with the knowledge and willingness to take this seriously. Eik
Can you elaborate how how the funds were stolen? Did you have a strong password? Did you have 2FA on? Did you secure your secret key properly? On Gatehub, you can see access log. Any suspicious log ins around the time of losing funds? These are important questions in your quest to finding out what happened. Gatehub cannot do much for you as it is highly likely not their fault. I guess the authorities will have to ask Poloniex on user information (poloniex.com, user: 1823530445) once they have enough prove the funds are actually stolen. cap and Parabellum

You paid a big price for learning this lesson!

With Action Fraud, you have to word your report very carefully: it will be read by an algorithm, not a human. If the algorithm decides that your report ticks the right boxes, it will be forwarded to human police officers. If you don't get a Crime Number (separate from your report number), it means your report hasn't been sent for human review.

All XRP deposits need to go via a wallet that the user makes (on polo website). After some minutes, Polo will transfer from this wallet to their main wallet with a destination tag. It can be seen on the provided bithomp link. Closingbell2012

Radios: Someone call the physic unit we got a live one down here. Kidding aside, That really sucks, and I am sorry. I had a strong password, 2 FA was not enabled, secret key stored as picture file on offline PC. Strange login with two identical IP addresses on day before : Oct 9, 2016 10:16:48 AM 94.196.115.209, 94.196.115.209 Chrome Signin All other access records show only one IP address Also no access shown before this date. I did contact Gatehub around this time to change address. Thanks for all help/info. Parabellum
