Chase
I started accumulating XRP during the WCG promotion and have decided to take some profit. I opened a bitstamp account in order to sell XRP and am now having a bit of trouble with a wire transfer to my canadian bank account. The form on bitstamp requires an IBAN number which canadian banks don't use. Are there any canadian bitstamp users who can give me some advice? Thanks. kanaas
I believe that you're right and that Canada has not adopted it yet. To my understanding this means that you must or can use your regular bankaccount for IBAN and SWIFT code (same as BIC = Bank Identification Code) If that doesn't work, you got to contact Bitstamp on this issue. DNK what your bank is but maybe this instructions for RBC can help Edited May 6, 2017 by kanaas
Mercury
@kanaas is correct. Bitstamps Canadian partner Vogogo is now defunct so the transferring funds directly to and from Canada is more difficult- this is across the the board to all none Canadian gateways unfortunately. There are a couple Canadian gateways although depending on the value you are attempting to transfer liquidity might be an issue. The Gateways are Bluzelle and Xagate
Chase
I've contacted bitstamp and am still waiting for a response. I think it's basically just a problem with the form. I have all the information they need, but unfortunately the IBAN field is mandatory, it won't allow me to enter the canadian equivalent. Super frustrating. I've been waiting for this money for years! Anyway, when I get it figured out i'll post in case anyone else runs into this problem.

If bitstamp support can't help me i'll verify at a canadian bitcoin exchange and go from there. I'd just rather not screw around so much.
JoelKatz
The IBAN field can also take a non-IBAN bank account number. I believe you just fill in your bank's SWIFT code and your account number. https://www.theswiftcodes.com/canada/ Chan_Maddanna

I've tried entering the account information into the field in quite a few formats but can't seem to make it take it. Thanks for replying though, I've enjoyed reading your posts on the various forums over the years. Obviously I'm grateful to your contributions to my over 20x return on the XRPs I just sold. I'm still holding over half of my original position. I'm not really a Crypto enthusiast but I've always thought that Ripple had the right idea. Thanks, Chase. Strovu
Hi @Chase or @JoelKatz Did you get your answer finally? I want to do the same thing and I wrote to Bitstamp support 4 days ago without answer yet... The thing is now in their form they added account number in the same box as IBAN. but there is still no place to add the transit number. How do they know at twhich branch my account is? From my bank documentation I should also add my bank phone number but still no box for this. There are many ways to write the branch number: transit number, routing number and canadian sort code. But there's none of these in bitstamp form... I know we can enter additional info at the bottom but that will create additionnal processing time which I would like to avoid. About Swift code, there is the 8 or 11 digit Swift code but my bank only supply the 8 one which does not contain the branch number... ZIGXRP
Does your CDN bank offer creating across the border US Bank Accounts? TD for example, offers that capability and may be a route you can look at.
