Need help with recovering wallet

Hi! I need help recovering my wallet. On ios (Iphone) installed the application "XRP Wallet". then uninstalled and reinstalled it. To restore the wallet, the application asks for Backup code, but I only have a seed phrase. Is it possible to recover and how?

I am not familiar with that wallet and am not sure I would trust it.  

First thing to do is check that your account is untouched by scammers…    take your public key (also called address) (it is a long string of chars that starts with a lowercase letter ‘r’) and put it into the search bar of a XRPL explorer like Bithomp or XRPscan.

If the balance still represents what you expect then at least the wallet hasn’t scammed you (so far).  Even so I would recommend a switch to one that is widely used by people on here….  XUMM wallet.

Having said that,  if you have the seed phrase then you can (assuming it actually is the seed phrase and that it is in a standard form) import it into any wallet that supports that phrase format.  Almost certainly XUMM will.

 

It’s generally a button like + or “create new account” or suchlike.  When it asks if you want to create a new wallet or restore or import you choose IMPORT.  Hopefully it will allow your seed phrase as one of the import options.

If that doesn’t work (or if it does) let us know how you went and we may be able to assist.
