T8493
It looks like not even one authenticator (Google Authenticator + Authy) is compatible with the Nexus tablet. Does Authy work ok on other tablets/phones?
namini
Google Authenticator & Authy should work on most of Android phones & Iphone. I don't know if tablets are supported at all. T8493
RDS
Hi Mate. I think it would not work on tablet reason being Authy asks your phone number and tablets do not have phone number so 2FA may not work with it. Disclosure- Its just my opinion and I not a geek so I am not 100% certain of above info but still wanted to help you with what i thought could be the case. Yes, every SIM card has a phone number. I'm not sure how voice calls work on this tablet, but SMS messages certainly work. I think I'll have to buy a cheap Android phone instead. There is no official Google Authenticator for Chrome. I can't even install Google Authenticator on this tables (and on all my other Android devices). Authenticator works only on two old tablets which don't work at the moment (and maybe will never work again). I'll maybe have more luck with Authy. Bejzbox
I am surprised google authenticator does not work!! If it runs on my windows laptop I am sure it should work on an Android tablet. It works on my android phone just fine. Don't own a tablet to test on. RDS
Bejzbox
What is the problem you are encountering? Do you get an error message? You cannot find it in play store? Is it a compatibility issue?https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.authenticator2 It says : Requires Android 2.3.3 and up Edited May 3, 2017 by Bejzbox

I'm not sure if it is possible to get the exact reason easily (except by manually inspecting the application manifest).

I used to own a nexus 7 which had some other compatibility issues for different aps. I didnt have authenticator on it at the time. if i had to guess, Id say its a device issue. :/
Wilbur14
I have had 3 different Droid phones and have never had any problem with Authy or Google Authenticator. I think Verizon assigns a phone number to their tablets even though it isn't used. I do have a problem with Web based Gatehub from my Moto Froce G in that I can sign in up to the point of entering the Google Auth 6 digit pin, but when I move from the login screen to GA to get the PIN I loose the Gatehub connection. I'm sure someone may be able to help me with this one. I sure would appreciate it.
