XRP gone from ledger to here

Can someone please explain why my XRP has gone from my ledger and is now here. I have no idea what happened, I just know that 2 days ago I had x-amount of XRP in my ledger and Bithomp took it but gracefully left me with 10 XRP. I didn’t authorise any transactions and I’m not too happy about it. What the hell is going on guys?

What do you mean "and is now here"? Did you mean to tell us a wallet address?

Usual suspects for unauthorised transactions are:

  • Your 24 word phrase was stolen/hacked
  • You used a scam site to connect your Ledger to claim an airdrop or similar
  • You purchased your ledger from a scammer, pre-loaded with an account that the hacker had control of

If you tell us your wallet address that might help shed some light on it.

@Evo Check above. Can you confirm that was the address where your XRPs went?

Thx,

Hi, no not that address. My XRP is on Bithomp but I don’t know how it got there, I didn’t approve the transaction and my ledger wasn’t activated.

As @Renny says above….    Bithomp is a XRPLedger explorer.  It shows any account or transaction that is on the XRPLedger.

Every single XRP lives in an account.  Every single account can be looked at by the Bithomp (or other) explorer.  The XRPLedger is a public blockchain, so every account and all its history is fully accessible to view by any XRP explorer. (Eg Bithomp, XRPScan etc.)

I think that you’ve just put your XRP wallet address (starts with ‘r’ and is actual an ‘account’) into Bithomp and then seen on the page your accounts details.  That’s perfectly normal and can be done for all XRP accounts.
