Appreciate the effort of course, but changing their mind took more than an year.

It wasn’t an appropriate defence when Ripple made it, but now…

And it didn’t happen until they realised that they were screwed too. Until then they were like “I don’t see why SEC is wrong here.”

I know it’s a bad look, but I’m very bitter and I remember everyone who ditched regular retail speculators, XRPL developers, and Ripple when they needed support.

Better late than never

2 key points that paved the way for present events IMO:

1. Gensler. His greed to f@ck with an entire industry instead of at least waiting for its biggest and most important case to set precedent

2. Ripples motion for summary judgement. Arguing at the core issue of security laws even back to the time before howey was a thing... and therefore arguing for the entire industry.

Both points, at the state of things, are forcing industry participants to either side with what they hate or shut the f up

I dont care much about ripple having to pay for early sales of xrp, but i'm going to strengthen my position on the bets of secondary markets getting clarity at SJ.

They said XRP wasn’t being alleged a security even though the SEC did this in both the amended complaint and the very first court hearing with Judge Netburn.

They ridiculed John Deaton for attempting to join the lawsuit. They ridiculed XRP holders as conspiracy theorists.

If the average Joe didn’t understand what was happening, that’s one thing. For a team of so called legal experts that formed an association to help lay the path for crypto policy in the US, they did a p**s poor job of coming out of their FUD shell just a little bit and actually look at the court submissions and transcripts.

Blockchain association didn’t even bother to provide lip service support for XRP holders on Twitter. It costs nothing. It’s easy to “support” after everything is publicly filed. Where were they in early Jan 2021 when Ripple was pleading for the industry to come together?

Note: My rant is about Blockchain Association in general, but to his credit, Jake publicly apologised a few months ago.

Well the man did ried to ridicule John Deaton and XRP holders and I always thought of him as clearly anti XRP.

Now that he realised his pocket is being threatened, as SEC clearly intends to go after other cryptos as well, he arrives late to the party. Better late than never I guess but still...

I still remember he said something along the lines of saying John Deaton's effort is meaningless and might as well do nothing, saying his effort is hilarious, basically imply the case is already a lose cause for ripple. He said some other very ugly things as well, so he coming out now is to protect his interest i guess? Anyway, better late than never, but it is hard to forget.
