Transaction Still Frozen After 48 hours at Bitrue Exchange

Recommended Posts

This is a warning about the exchange Bitrue. I was moving from this exchange to a better one and I was all in on the GMT token at the time so I tried to send all my GMT to this other exchange with the SOLANA Network. This was 48 hours ago and since then my tokens have still been frozen in the transaction on the Bitrue website and they are not unfreezing my crypto and replying to my emails.

I bought the GMT for $3.56 at the time and since then, GMT is now worth $3.19 and could crash at any second but I can’t do anything about it on my end. Because I am a crypto noob and go all-in with everything, I couldn’t even pay for my rent, bills and do grocery shopping for 2 days because of this too. So far I’ve had two sleepless nights and I have no idea what to do in this situation :( I just thought I’d let you guys know so that you can learn from my mistakes and never use this Bitrue exchange and never go all-in on anything while having HODL bags and USD on the side and of course think about using a ledger as well.

Sorry for your bad experience. Bear in mind though that the last few days have been a weekend (and Monday was a public holiday in many parts of the world), so it may not be unusual for support to be slow at this time.

Withdrawal delays can and do happen from time to time on all the exchanges, judging by other people's accounts of similar things happening. It may be KYC or AML rules that they're obliged to follow, but regardless of the reason, I wouldn't put money on any exchange if I needed it back in my bank account in a hurry.

Going all-in is probably the least of the problems here - using rent and bill money to buy crypto is the real killer, regardless of what you buy with it.

Hopefully you'll manage through this week and be wiser for it - losing a bit of money now to learn a lesson that will stop you losing much more in the future might be worth it in the long run.

The sad part is that im like 99.99% sure that tomorrow's 50bp hike announcement will bring your dip a bit further than this.
Despite that this 50bp is already implemented in the recent retracements happening it's still gonna affect the price with the  "wow" factor in normal investors shorting positions.

Hope you manage to resolve your issue.

It's been 3 days now and still the issue hasn't been resolved unfortunately.

I really hope that's the case at3n, thank you so much for the feedback!

Hopefully that won't happen. They said before that they are now investigating my issue internally after I created a few support tickets and then 48 hours ago they told me that they are having a GMT wallet maintenance issue but that I could transfer my coins into stable coins and then transfer them out. However, all the GMT in my account is fully frozen so I can't touch them at all and I sent them a few emails about this and about my real life struggles because of this issue (even my toilet paper is finished and I can't buy any lol) and I also asked if they were to compensate my losses.

After 32 hours and 4 emails, they emailed me back saying the exact same thing (maintenance issue) and they did not address how all my tokens are frozen and I can't transfer them, as well as they didn't say anything about the compensation. At least, I am getting a free fast out of this with extra showers :D but the nightmares are increasing with the little sleep that I am getting thinking about how BTC and GMT could crash at any second and I have a good feeling Bitrue would not compensate anything but I'll wait and see I guess, that's all I can do after all and hope that the support team of Bitrue will solve my issue.

I do hate when support teams reply with copy and paste answers repeatedly. Even if they can't help, acknowledging the actual issues goes a long way towards reassuring people I think.

Sounds like a really rough week for you and I hope it sorts out soon.
