ATH Airdrop on Flare for ELS Holders on the XRPL

If you hold ELS in one of your XRPL wallets, you can get a matching airdrop of ATH.

Details of the airdrop are here: https://elysian-athena.com/athena.php

In short, snapshots take place starting March 30 and the actual airdrop won't be until late in the year.

To receive the airdrop you need to pair up both your XRPL address and your Flare/Songbird address here: https://binding.elysian-athena.com/

There's no transaction involved, all you're doing is connecting/signing so that they know you control both wallets.

Thanks for the info Brian.

JFYI, your provided link is HTTP not HTTPS protocol, their site fails to auto-redirect to the proper protocol, but one can manually change the URL and get to the correct service. (just edit your link to say "https" and that will fix it.

Cheers

Hi guys!
I also have my ELS on XUMM because Elysianers (check on twitter) says that ATM XUMM is the only supported platform for the AD, they said that they're working on other platform compatibility but not sure if they will be released so for "safetyness" i keep mine in XUMM to be sure to receive the xATH AD

Greetings @nongio86 and welcome to XRPChat.

Thanks for the reminder on the ATH airdrop, I'll check it out.
Cheers !

EDIT: ( here is a partial list of ADs via the XRPL: https://xrpl.community/ )

BTW ->

Your ELS is "stored" on the XRP Ledger (aka XRPL).

XUMM is not a custodial service, it's just an app for interacting with the XRPL, initiating transactions.

I created a XUMM wallet, but I don't really want to move all my XRP into it so it can be snapshotted. Is that what we have to do?

edit: Ah sorry I just realised it is snapshotting the ELS, not the XRP. But how will it know that I have the ELS?

Ack !!
If I didn't know better, I'd swear you're trolling me :)

XUMM is not a container, it stores no tokens. Poor @wietse - this must just drive him crazy lol

Friend Seoulite, just check your XRPL account's "tokens" and "trustlines" with this tool:
https://xrpscan.com/account/rXXX ( replace the "rXXX" with your public key which starts with "r" )

If you have BOTH the ELS trustline set, and some ELS in your tokens balance, then a snapshot scanning of all XRPL accounts will have been recorded by their scanning program. The process itself performs a scanning of all accounts set with trustlines, confirming a balance. The scanning process records that in a private list used in the airdrop step.

I hope this answers your question on how "it" works.
Cheers

Yeah excellent description, I would just like to add that the historical mistake of calling these ledger interface apps as “wallets” is what creates the confusion in my opinion.

A wallet in real life actually has the funds IN it.  A software “wallet” on the other hand is nothing other than a way to interact with the blockchain.  The funds/tokens are on the blockchain.

So anyone wanting to “snapshot” the XRP Ledger simply saves a particular moments ledger block and then they have the record of funds in accounts….  the “snapshot”.  It doesn’t matter what the owner of the account is using to interact with the blockchain, the snapshot has the record.

The reason why something like XUMM might make a difference is because an airdrop organiser might contact the XUMM team and ask for their token to be added to the apps pre-loaded list of tokens,  a convenience feature only.

In the case of CSC it was more than that because XUMM wrote modules that would automatically contact the faucet API and do stuff to prepare the required transactions for the user.  That level of integration is not common though.

Like Billy said I’ve just heard everyone call it a wallet for years so I assumed it was. But I think I made a mistake: I created a new account with a new secret key. Should I have imported the account that is connected to the xrp toolkit? Wouldn’t that involve getting the private key from my ledger?

You left out two info items required to assess and reply to your question:

  1. This new XRPL account you created - did you set the ELS trustline
  2. ... and if so, did you plug in that new account's "r***" number into the xrpscan URL I posted above ?

What matters is this:
A. Does any account of your's have the ELS trustline set ?
B. Were these accounts with the ELS trustline created before the snapshot deadline ?
