RobertHarpool
Interesting timing for this: “Biden Preparing Executive Order on Cryptocurrencies” Apparently it will be in Feb. With minimal political banter, what do you think Biden’s order will address?

Danny
I wouldn't be surprised if Biden's order will reflect some of this:https://decentralizedlegalsystem.com/us-crypto-currency-regulation/ I read that an executive order has the power of federal law. Congress may try to overturn an executive order by passing a bill that blocks it, but the president can veto that bill and Congress would then need to override that veto to pass the bill. Could an executive order nullify Judge Netburn's decision or verdict? Edited January 24, 2022 by Danny
Guest
White House can't make long term policy. It won't last long. They can empower institutions to make policy. I think that is what we will see. They need to tread lightly. Otherwise, they will lose mid-terms badly. Crypto is that rare subject that has bipartisan voter support. It's not like abortion rights, gun control, etc. where there are strong views on both sides. Obviously they'll tax more. Somehow I don't think we will see any policy that will affect Ripple lawsuit any time soon.
RandyMarsh
I've got this odd feeling that the SEC has been stalling in order to take advantage of whatever this is. This is based on nothing other than the suspicious timing. retryW and VanGogh

benstr
Biden administration has screwed policy up in the past. I wouldn't hold my breath on what they come up with. I just hope they don't screw it up badly.
mm421wsp
Although EOs have been issued by many presidents of both parties...they are wholly unconstitutional as the executive has no authority to make law. Legislatures' job. On top of that, the legislature cannot cede it's authority to make law to the executive...that's why we have separate branches of government. Executives that are capable of making laws are monarchs. Back in the real world, the us gubment has long done whatever the hell they want...and 99% of the sh*&t they do is illegal.
