The solution turned out to be simple - I printed the letter m in capital letters, but it was necessary to print this letter in lowercase, and in a notebook on a computer, you can’t visually distinguish lowercase from uppercase

@vover There are several reasons that might happen. The software is old and buggy. 99% of the time that I would get that message I just need to simply quite the app and start it up again ... once .. or twice .. 

The good news is that it really doesn't matter. 

You don't need to be connected to the servers in order for you to retrieve your private/secret key. Just go to the cog wheel settings icon ... then security settings ... and voila, there's ur key. 

Put that into XUMM or some other wallet and ur done with the old client forever :-D
