MorneM
Hi everyone In December 2017 I purchased some XRP from my Bitcoin wallet. I am from South Africa and used my Luno account. I have the transaction details from the exchange but have no idea where it was sent to. All I have is the transaction number and address number where it was sent to. How do I retrieve my XRP and send it to the platform I am using in New Zealand where I currently reside? Thank you in advance. Morne
at3n
We need to work out where your XRP currently is (broadly speaking). Can you confirm if the below is an accurate summary of what happened? 1) You sent Bitcoin to your Luno account 2) You traded Bitcoin for XRP using Luno 3) You withdrew XRP from Luno? Is the above correct (particularly no. 3)? 54 minutes ago, MorneM said: All I have is the transaction number and address number where it was sent to. Does the address you have begin with "r", or is it just a number?

I only traded some Bitcoin for XRP and when I open my Bitcoin wallet using Luno it gives a transaction number that starts with a4 and an address that starts with a number. Maybe I'm completely wrong on this, not having used Luno before, and maybe someone can correct me, but it looks like Luno is a regular type of crypto exchange. If you have any type of crypto on an exchange, then you don't actually hold the crypto on its blockchain, you just have an account with the exchange. The exchange has responsibility for managing your funds. So if you bought XRP with Bitcoin, and never withdrew your XRP, but you can't find it, then you really need to contact Luno's support. XRP addresses never start with a number, so the address is most likely a reference to an internal Luno account (hopefully yours). Is there no way to view your XRP wallet on Luno? I wouldn't expect to see any XRP transaction on your Bitcoin wallet. Or can you check if Luno will tell you the withdrawal history for your account, in case a withdrawal happened that you're not aware of?
MorneM
At the time of purchase, Luno didn't have XRP available to buy. Hence the reason I couldn't use my Luno account to store it. They do have XRP now.

If you put the transaction or address into a bitcoin block explorer does it show you anything?
