Axie Infinity -> now has over 1 million players, its tokens price is up 275% in last month...

Recommended Posts

Gaming and NFTs already gaining some momentum...

( quote from today's story in Daily Hodl )

"Play-to-earn game Axie Infinity (AXS) just breached $1 billion in all-time sales, adding to the surging popularity of games based on non-fungible tokens (NFT). The online video game developed by Sky Mavis allows players to generate profits through buying, breeding and selling digital pets known as Axies. Each Axie is minted as an NFT, enabling players to verify the authenticity of the digital creature in the blockchain."

Note the volume bars, you can see, only started last month.

So, if the 1 million players stick with it and the media picks up on this nascent phenom,
and it goes 10X new player base...  Then this token's value will scale up along with it I'd expect...

For those interested in this space, you might take a look at Gala games. @CountZerpula has mentioned them several times in the Zerpening Club. They are currently ERC-20 but I believe they'll eventually be migrating fully to the Flare Network once it goes live. In any case, they are definitely supporting Flare and users will be able to mint NFTs on that network as well as create F-Assets using the Gala token.

One of their founders was a co-founder of Zenga (Farmville, etc.). They also recently announced acceptance into the Binance Smart Chain Accelerator Program. In addition, they have partnerships with Brave and Opera.

I'm not a big gamer, so I can't speak to the quality of their current offerings. But their ethos is all around gamers owning their own assets (NFTs) and the community seems ro be growing nicely.

As far as token price, it's fluctuated quite a bit lately - from under a cent to just over 3 cents (US) in the past several weeks. It's currently trading at around 1.8 cents and can be purchased on Bitrue (and I assume many of the ethereum Dex's.

  • 2 months later...

Just a quick update - in the last two months since I started this post,
AXS has gone from $40 to $140, now with a MC of 8.5b.

But from what I'm reading, its entry costs for noobs is painfully steep, I'm cashing out and
moving into the newer and shinier things :)

( I'm planning to start a new post that is more general on this topic of Crypto Gaming )
