kierlynch
Hello Everyone, i am new here and starting to feel slightly anxious about gatehub/bitcoin. I had 1.7 bitcoin a few years ago that i basically left to grow in gatehub and it was held with snapswap. i didnt really check the news etc i just checked the price of btc now and then. Now it went up i wanted to withdraw it and gatehub are charging me half of my holding to send it to coinbase or btfinex. plus it wont allow me to trade it to ethereum. It says i can transfer 1.7 to 771 eur. i recently read about snapswap being a defunct gateway. Oh dear, please is there anything i can do? any help would be greatly appreciated but i am starting to get a sinking feeling..... many thanksKieran

tulo
Can you write here your account? So I can check the status? Just the ripple address, NOT the secret! I can then see which IOUs you hold. I'm afraid you hold BTC.snapswap and they lost value due to snapswap closing.
kierlynch
my account? what do you mean my ripple address or my login name?
namini
Gatehub is not charging you anything, but Snapswap is a defunct gateway so you'll probably be able to sell your BTC but below face value:https://forum.ripple.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15900 ------------- Regarding Tulo question: Your Ripple public wallet address starting with a r... like this one: rEhKZcz5Ndjm9BzZmmKrtvhXPnSWByssDv (never share your gatehub login / password or your secret key)

So you actually have: 1.71 BTC.Snapswap (rMwjYedjc7qqtKYVLiAccJSmCwih4LnE2q) or BTC2Ripple. They are currenty undervaluated because of snapswap closed. They are currently at around 300 USD each, so probably if you can trade them for half the real BTC price (600 USD each) you are lucky. 0.29 BTC.Coinex. Also dead. Less value than snapswap. Around 20 ETH.GatehubFifth. Those are good ETH issued by Gatehub. kierlynch

I wrote the answer but got lost. You have: 1.71 BTC snapswap / BTC2Ripple. They lost lots of value because gatehub closed. They are worth around 300 USD each. 0.29 BTC Coinex. Worth nothing. Around 20 ETH Gatehub Fifth. Those are good and valuable ETH. You can try to contact Snapswap to see if you can redeem those BTC, otherwise you can just sell them for less value on Gatehub. Gatehub is only providing you a User Interface, they are not charging anything. It's the actual market price. kierlynch
The lord giveth and the lord taketh away....oh dear.. OK Tulo and Namini, first of all thank to you both for being helpful and understanding of me being a bit of a dunce. Very kind of you to check my status etc. Now secondly, when i exchanged all of my ripple for bitcoin and ethereum last year should i have moved it to my primary wallet so it was safe? it seems strange that the two exchanges i got were two duds, I did it around may or june which is when the snapswap was winding down. Any exchanges people recommend? coinbase, bitfinex, bitstamp or anything like that. thanks again for the help, regards Kier
