Snorlax
Hi guys. Been reading all I can about the Flare airdrop, but still have a question. It seems like everything is fine when I'm checking the "Spark claim" etc. however there is something I'm confused about. I used my ledger address for the xrp and I set up an ETH address on the same ledger wallet as I keep my xrp. When the airdrop has happened and I need to access the flare address, do I have to use my "security words" to get access to the flare address then? (The same security words as for my xrp??). Hopefully my question is understandable.
at3n
If Ledger creates a Flare app then you shouldn't need to do anything with the 24 words, you'll be able to use Ledger Live or perhaps a 3rd party app online with the Nano connected. If it turns out that the Ledger app doesn't do what you need it to (or is not released quickly enough), then you may need to take the words and import them into some external tool to extract the private key. If you don't want to take the risk of exposing your 24 words like this, then consider creating a new ETH address outside of your Nano and changing the message key on the XRP wallet, today or tomorrow. Thanks a lot! Hopefully they create an app soon after the airdrop. It's quite a while since I set this up, but if I remember correctly I didn't get different 24 words for the xrp wallet and eth wallet within the Nano? So the 24 words given to "bad actors" could potentially lead to me losing both the XRP and FLR, correct? I think I rather buy a new Nano and transfer my XRP to that one instead of changing ETH address this close to the deadline

Yes, that's correct, I'd only suggest using your 24 words as a last resort, and when you've reduced your risk as much as possible.
