If you already have some familiarity with the FF product suite then you might be interested in this, because the talk is more about the future plans. If you are new to FF then I wouldn't start here because they don't really explain any of the basics; they are talking as if people are aware of what FF is.

For some reason I can't embed the video in this post so I'll just put the link:

Some interesting, somewhat tense questioning near the end from the Doge developer. He says hearing Hugo talk about the Flare network sounds 'fishy' and he openly admits that he is building smart contracts on Doge and so in that sense is 'in competition'  with Flare.

I think this may be an example of how Flare will start to rub people up the wrong way. The network is basically saying 'hey you guys on LTC, DOGE, and XRP, come use smart contracts with us.' And that is directly competing with anyone trying to build smart contract functionality on the native chain. So far there are not many examples of this on the current F-assets, but can you imagine if (when?) something like ADA is added? I think that will be pretty controversial.

Frankly I don’t see ADA being added. Why add a platform that already has smart contracts ? But who knows what the governance votes are going to do…

I would agree with you but for the fact that Flare did a poll on Twitter asking what should be added, ADA was voted for overwhelmingly and I’ve heard Hugo reference that a couple of times since. It is clearly something they are considering.

I think they already confirmed that it won’t be available at launch. I could be wrong. Post launch, people would have to vote for it and Twitter poll results may not reflect the vote.

Yes it won’t be available at launch, but the very fact it is on their radar is surprising. It’s not like there is a shortage of other networks. Anyway I think btc will likely be the first proposal. I mean why not haha
