which is the default settings for Ropsten. The Coston and Ropsten network need to be on the same account though, so they will then share the same addresses.

Hi, trying to wade through all this. Never used MetaMask before. The above settings aren't working for me for the setup of the Ropsten network, throws up an error "could not fetch Chain ID. Is your RPC URL correct?"

Any thoughts on what I might be doing incorrect here?

 

As an aside I note that the settings provided on https://flarefinance.medium.com/welcome-to-the-flare-finance-beta-test-f0c2796af444 to connect to the Custom RPC for the Coston Test Network didn't work for me but that those provided by @Seoulite above do. Thanks @Seoulite.

So actually for me the Ropsten network was already on metamask, it already appeared for some reason. I've gone to the faucet to get the tokens and it says they sent but I haven't received them yet, so I assume there is congestion. I don't know whether it has worked or not yet.

Also those details are likely for the previous beta, the data I put on here is the stuff that is on the discord page.

Thanks for that, I just checked and you are correct the Ropsten Network is already setup on MetaMask. Thanks again for your help and also for your regular posts on the forum.

My ETH came through pretty quick, in wallet already

Thanks! Actually a long time lurker on this forum -  got my bag of Zerps back when Ripple was partnered with Computing for Good, still holding!

Sorry, yes the Ropsten network is already set as a default network in MetaMask.

That Flare Finance article is outdated and contains old information from the previous Flare test network.

This was posted today in the Flare Finance Discord @Seoulite

For the beta, make sure you are using a new account never used before - MetaMask doesn’t reset nonce values on prior-used accounts, so a user sending a tx on flare through an account used already would have an incorrect nonce value and their tx won’t get through. Get your faucet funds here: https://faucet.towolabs.com/ and explore the network here: https://explorer.flare.network/
