Do recent listings suggest Flare could launch as a top 20 coin?

I checked CMC today after a while and noticed this:

I have no idea what this thing is but it launched yesterday(!) and is already number 8. Have you guys ever seen something like this?

There is also this thing, whatever it is:

It launched a month ago and is number 20.

One of the strongest arguments against the current FLR IOU prices was that if the Bitrue prices were accurate at launch, it would make Flare a 20 top coin on launch. I thought this was unbelievable, but apparently not. Apparently these days it is fairly common.

As I write Bitrue IOU price is $1.85. Considering the initial supply will be 15 billion, that is a market cap of around 28 billion. That puts Flare at number 9 at launch.

Is it possible that the IOU price is accurate?

It's time for me to stop procrastinating on my airdrop homework. The FLR snapshot for DFLR airdrop is exciting, and I feel like I could mess it up.

When does it occur and how do we take advantage?  As is I still have no idea when I am going to get access to my FLR since Coinbase has been mum.

Maybe it's naïve of me, but I feel confident the FLR will drop into my Coinbase account. From that point though, there are several steps to take over the matter of a few weeks in order to take full advantage of the opportunities.

I literally watched my first youtube video on it today so don't have much info. Know this forum has some good info to dig through also which I will be doing.

Current guesses is Flare Network to launch sometime between mid-June thru July.

CB would have nothing to say to their customers at this time, as there are no official statements.

Also, apps won't be running right away (IIRC), as they want the network to first attain some trading stability. Then, once Flare Finance launches, there will be a one week window to secure a snapshot and claiming for their own airdrop.

So we wait, patiently.

Any news on when a Flare wallet will be available? Plus  instructions on how to connect it to the flare address that I created to apply to the XRP wallet message key field?

I'm just gonna use Metamask, as I've gotten used to it in the FF beta.
It will be a simple matter to just add the token and network when it's live.

It's a tall task, but the absurdity with ETH fees is certainly going to give the Flare platform every opportunity they need to eat into that giant market share.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it expected (or at least the intention) that the Eth 2.0 launch in July is meant to address the high fees?  If it does successfully do that, wouldn't the window for Flare be rather small (at least on that issue)?

I've given up on trying to predict the price. I plan to hold my airdropped FLR and put it to work on the network, so I've stopped worrying about the price. Also my prediction wouldn't be worth much anyway, understanding how prices work isn't one of my strengths.

In general I don't worry about it, I just find it interesting to talk about. 'Let's wait and see' is no fun, so I like just kicking ideas around. Having said that, seeing these new projects jumping up the list so fast did make me do a double take. Of course, it could also mean that this whole 'market cap' stuff is even more meaningless than we previously thought.

I'm not technical so I can't say for sure, but the impression I've gotten from hearing people talking about it is that it may solve fee issues but leaves other large issues unresolved. I got the feeling that 2.0 is not like suddenly ETH is all fixed. Could be wrong though.

Beside, Flare has other selling points than just 'low gas ETH'. Arguably those other points are bigger than being a cheaper ETH. I'm not concerned about its ability to compete.
