xrp-pat
I did the FLR thingy a while back, and when I check my XRP address on XRPSCAN it shows how many FLR I'll be getting. Where will these be airdropped to though? The address shown on XRPSCAN is my ETH address (of which I've got ETH in), so will they exist in the cloud as such until there is a FLR option on my Nano Ledger? (Or spark or whatever it is?) JASCoder
Your gifted FLR will be "dropped" to your account on the Flare Network. To buy your new Lambo: Get an account with an exchange supporting FLR Deposit a Lambo's worth amount to that exchange (I'm using Metamask plugin to my Chrome browser) Trade your FLR at that exchange for fiat Wire the fiat to your bank account Write check on your bank account for new Lambo Enjoy the ride xrp-pat and Seoulite 1
xrp-pat
I understood steps 3 to 5! So do I have an account on the Flare Network already then? Or will this be setup automatically when it all goes live? Feel free to point me in the right direction for reading up on this rather than answering! You don't have an account yet because the network is not live, but we could say that you have an account prepared for you that will go live with the network. A Flare wallet is being developed as we speak, I imagine we will see the details of it all before the launch. My guess is that it will be a browser based wallet or something like that. We are still waiting for more information about how it will work. In any case, you have FLR claimed, it is linked to the wallet you set it up on. xrp-pat

Flare uses the same address system as Ethereum. If you've got the recovery phrase or secret key for that Ethereum wallet that you entered, it will work for the same address on Flare. It's like having the same street address but in two totally different cities (Ethereumville and Flaretown). So your FLR will be deposited into that address, but on the Flare Network, not Ethereum. I know that MetaMask already allows you to connect to different networks - it's an option up near the top of the wallet. I'm pretty sure somebody will be coming out with a dedicated Flare wallet before launch. You'll be able to import your Ethereum keys into one of those to gain access to your wallet on the Flare Network. xrp-pat and Seoulite 1

I believe brian's comment above would have cleared this up, but a fairly easy to understand analogy is as follows: Your house has a front and back door, both are completely separate and unique doors, however access is granted via the same key. Flare uses the same cryptography to generate keypairs as Eth, so your private/secret key for Eth will generate the same public address on the Flare network as it does on the Eth network. Warg
I'm trying to get some clarity regarding if I claimed my Spark tokens correctly. I have 3 places where I check, https://www.bithomp.com , https://livenet.xrpl.org/ and www.xrpscan.com On all 3 places it clearly says "account set" and the date and time is correct. but on xrpscan.com it still says "not registered" set message key, despite further down on the page it says account set. I set up 2 different Nano's using the same procedure and on one it looks fine but on the other not. Does anyone know what's up with this? I just want to have confirmation that everything is setup correctly. See screenshot.

You can also check on XRPToolkit. I would think if 3 places show it as set, it's good. Seoulite and Warg

I agree with brian I would check using the xrptoolkit. https://www.xrptoolkit.com Warg
Frisia
I have the same question. With xrpscan I can check my ledger account and the FLR claim distribution is present. This was done with XUMM so there is nothing more to do right? So the initial event created on XUMM was in fact the claim, so nothing more to do. I guess we now need to wait for the instructions on how to act on the FLR ledger once it is active. Am I right?

Yes, as long as you've set the memo to an Ethereum wallet that you have the recovery phrase or secret key to, all you need to do is wait. If you have an Ethereum wallet like MetaMask that lets you change which network you connect to, you can just switch it to connect to Flare instead of Ethereum (you can connect to Flare's test network right now). But I'm pretty sure there will be a dedicated Flare wallet at launch.

Yes, the instructions given by XUMM were to activate an ETH wallet first in order to have your account created (I created a MEW wallet). How to connect it to Flare test network honestly I don't know. I would need a good tutorial for beginners to make the first steps. I didn't investigate enough yet...
