UnRealm
Hi, I'm new to crypto and I know there is a lot of scam. So before I start, I'd like to choose trustworthy software to manage my wallet. I didn't find a lot of reviews about XUMM, so I decided to ask the community. Can I use it? Is there more trustworthy software than XUMM?
3GO3D
Hi, The Nano s & Nano x are highly recommended but not the easiest to use for beginners like yourself and me.
Triceratops
XUMM is highly recognized in the XRP community, you can use it without a doubt. Edited April 7, 2021 by Triceratops Similar Topic added XRPHdlr
banistersmind
Here's a tricky one I discovered just today. So Toast Wallet requires a minimum balance of 20XRP to remain in a wallet for reasons (?) I've moved away from Toast but I've had to leave 25 XRP in my wallet. Surely there's a way to extract all my XRP if my intention is to close it down...? brianwalden
The XRPL has a 20 XRP wallet reserve that's used to stop people from creating new wallets they don't need. There is a wallet delete transaction to get 15 of those XRP back - but you can't send them to an exchange, it doesn't work with destination tags. Can you send them to another wallet?
paym8
the very last 15xrp, I'm afraid you have to suffer that, as that's the price or cost of opening & activating an account on the XRPl edger, mission accomplished, helps stops the bloat of frivolously creating wallets. Especially now its worth something. I did see a tweet where DS said if the upper price continues he may propose the reduction of wallet reserve from 20 to 10 and asset/trustlines etc from 5 to 2. I don't have the link sorry banistersmind

I don't have the link sorry I can see the sense in that. I didn't realise that support for Toast wallet had ended and I was looking around for a wallet that would store different coin denominations. Shoulda read up a bit more.

I tried sending 15 from Toast to my new wallet. No good. I feel this is something XRPL should address giving the change in price of XRP over the past fortnight. You can get 15 of the 20 back, but for some reason (I don't understand why) you can't send them to exchanges that use destination tags - you have to send it to one of your other wallets. Hey guys, maybe you can help. I was looking for this.."wallet delete transaction" option in TOAST but can't seem to find it. Would be nice to get rid of the app since it's not being supported..you never know. I'm confused though..XUMM also reserves the same amount when showing my balance..it seems like the activation reserve sits on the ledger...I'm sorry I'm so tech illiterate..it's been a while since 2017. PS. HODL!!!

PS. HODL!!! Good observation. You can think of the ledger as a huge worldwide bank that's full of safety deposit boxes. What we call wallets are actually more like key rings. They just hold the keys to your safety deposit box so that you're the only one who can take stuff out of it. All the coins just move from one safety deposit box to another inside the ledger, your "wallet" just provides the key to unlock your box to send money from it. That's why when you look at your wallet in XUMM you see the exact same thing as you do when using Toast. The coins are never in your Toast wallet or XUMM wallet, they're always on the ledger, Toast and XUMM are just software to interact with the ledger. You don't actually have to delete your Toast wallet. You can just import it into XUMM and go on using it. But if you do want to import it into XUMM and then delete it, here's some advice: https://support.xumm.app/hc/en-us/articles/360018166359-How-to-delete-your-on-ledger-XRP-account Sorry, I've never actually deleted a wallet (I have dozens), so I can't give much advice on how to do it. The 20 XRP reserve is set by the XRP ledger itself, so there's no way around it. XRPHdlr
XRPHdlr
Thank you @brianwalden! I've already setup XUMM and seems really nice! I'll take a look at the guide if it mentions removing toast. I appreciate it!
