New Flare Finance White Paper

Recommended Posts

OK I read it. First, how many of us knew when we first bought crypto that we would end up getting an education in economics and financial instruments too?

I'm not knowledgeable in this area at all, so if I'm way off then please set me straight. It seems the APY cloud's purpose is to 'guarantee' a certain yield longterm, protecting against wild swings and wild crashes in price, supply, and demand. It does this by regulating the supply and demand in the form of excess distributions and in the form of bonds. It is designed to have 40million YFLR to play with in this respect, which will always be modified to last at least three years when it is being distributed. This pool is fed by fees from mining and loans. When the protocols are being used and fees are flying about all over the place, this pool doesn't need to be used at all (I think).

So it is designed to make DeFi attractive to normies, not just us lambo moonboys who demand 10x returns every week or it's a dead project. Long term predictable investing just like in the real world.

I've been lukewarm on Flare Finance before. This excites me. I don't understand it but on some level it excites me haha.

I got the same basic read as you. The APY cloud is kind of like a governor to keep the interest from going too high or too low. Trustline looks like it's doing some exciting things too. This is going to be interesting.
