Do not close your XRP wallet and direct funds to an Exchange!

This official blog post leads you to believe that you can close an XRP wallet and have the funds directed to an exchange. I just lost all of my XRP by doing this :(

Transaction confirmed, but funds never made it through.

 

Just a warning message for whoever might be reading this.

Here is the correct link to the transaction...apparently it is perceived as a different type of transaction by the network and not processed by most exchanges.

This is a good point. Although it's not Ripple's fault, it's understandable that the blog post may contribute to this happening. A reminder in the post that this isn't the same transaction type as a payment, and may not be correctly handled by exchanges, would be a good addition IMO.

@mDuo13 would you consider updating the blog post with a warning (if you can)?

@QuopiusHave you asked the exchange if they will send it back to you manually?
