Hello Everybody,

i have a problem with my RIppex desktop Wallet. FOr some unknown reason it shows "This regular-key wallet is invalid. You may browse this account but cannot execute transactions."

SO i can open the account but i cannot send any xrp.

I have seen some other persons who had the same issue in the past, but i didn't get if they have solved or not. I've tried everything i found in the forum and in the web but nothing worked. Can someone help me with this please?

Thank you very much in advance

Are you aware of having set a regular key for it in the past?

It probably is the case that your original "master" secret key has been disabled and replaced with the secret key from another account (called a regular key).

I think if you enter the wallet address into Bithomp it will tell you if this is the case.

Thank you for answering at3n!

I honestly have opened this account years ago. I don't remember much. I just know that i have a file called "RippexWallet- regular Key", which is the file i use to open my wallet together with my password. Before worked and now not anymore.

Inside the wallet i also find the secret key, so you mean that it is changed? How do i find the right one for allowing me to send xrp?

I have opened bithomp and i've insert the regular key. It shows me the information, the balances the transaction and activated accounts Do i have to do something?

Sorry for asking silly question but i am very newbie with all this

The secret key is all you need. Download XUMM app to your smartphone (Android or iOS) and enter your secret key there. You will be able to do whatever you like with your XRP.

I have downloaded XUMM and added the secret key to open a new account there. It gave me a different regular key than rippex-wallet and now it is asking to activate the account with 20xrp. After activated it, i can access to the blocked ripple wallet? I ask because it doesn't show me any connection with the previous wallet and i m not sure if have done the correct steps

Actually I am not sure if Xumm wallet recognizes regular key. The thing is, if you import the regular key, it will search for the address that belongs to that key. That's why OP got the message it needed activation.

But you don't need activation. It is the combination of address and regular private key that does it.

Maybe in others words, the regular private key itself does not refer in any way to the address in question. But it is the address that holds a reference to the regular key. So you should be able to supply the address and the regular key in Xumm and I don't know it that is possible. @Wietse

You created a new account. You needed to import your existing account:

Top right of XUMM app > Add Account > Import Existing Account > Full Access > Family Seed > enter the secret key ( s...........) from your old Rippex wallet

I did it. When it creates the account it shows a different regular key than the other wallet (which i guess it is normal and it has to be like that). Then, at the end of creating the account, it shows me a message where it is written: (i ll translate from my language)

"You have imported a new account on xrp register. The account is anyway not activated yet. The account activation is a necessary request for xrp register.  For activating it you will have to deposit 20 XRP at least."

Then if i go to "homepage" it shows the new regular key, and there is written in red "Your account is NOT activated". If i click on "how to activate my account" it says that i have to put 20xrp at least.

But the Op said "Inside the wallet i also find the secret key".

s............... That is the family seed, commonly known as the secret key. If you import that as I told you above, you will not need to activate the wallet, you will have your old funds back.
