rickshaw999
Long time hodler and member here. I have a public/private keypair for a substantial amount of FLR that I would consider selling at a very fair price OTC - for personal reasons. Obviously, there are trust issues involved with such a trade, so a proper legal agreement would have to be drawn up etc. Anyone interested, PM me. Hopium
You must be the African Prince, coincidentally I am too, any chance you're my long lost twin brother? We can help each other to unlock the massive FLR treasure bestowed upon each of us, give me your key and I'll give mine, then we no longer need to hide ourselves and hide our wealth
rickshaw999
Lol, wow, interesting responses. Not everything in this space is a scam, guys. No African prince here. I am offering ownership of a keypair that will (verifiably) receive a very large amount of FLR during the distribution. I am willing to sell it for 50% of the IOU market price. So, if you believe in FLR, this is a unique chance to get some half-price. However, I appreciate the big risk on the buyer's part is.. how do you know I don't have a copy of the private key? Well, you don't. That's where a legal agreement comes in. I am willing to offer legal guarantees. No biggie if I don't find a taker. I'll just wait out the 2.5 year distribution if not. I'd just rather have liquidity now.
jn_r
There is actually a way around it: When receiving the keypair, change the Flare receiving address to one of your own Change the address to use a new regular key that only you control disable the master key. Once you are at step 3, you are save :-) BillyOckham

Once you are at step 3, you are save :-) Yes you probably do not need legal agreements. The key management , and the fact that the distribution hasn’t happened yet, appears to allow you to absolutely take possession. One thing to clarify though BEFORE you spend funds buying these OTC Flare tokens... will the distribution go to the Flare address in the messagekey field AT TIME OF DISTRIBUTION, or will it go to the address IN THE SNAPSHOT? Obviously the most likely is the “at time of distribution” option but I can imagine, (and have seen similar,) badly thought out software that takes the snapshot address as canonical and will only look at current ledger if not present in snapshot. I would guess it’s “at time of distribution” but I would definitely verify that if I was contemplating doing anything like suggested above. This is definitely good to verify. From the documentation it seems clear, but good to check with someone from Flare if someone would really go through with it. Here is the relevant documentation: https://blog.flare.xyz/claiming-spark-faqs/ Quote How do I claim the Spark token? If you self custody, the method of claiming the Spark token is simply to set the Message Key field on your XRP Ledger address to your Flare address. (This process is detailed below). To claim Spark you must do this by 6 months of the snapshot date.

But we agree it should be checked if doing a buy OTC prior to distribution. jn_r
