Flare airdrop of Spark tokens to XRP holders faq

Hi. I’ve got an account on BitBay.net which i kept XRP for snapshot (December 12, 2020 between december 11.2020) for this moment I’d like to close my BitBay account because it is not good company. My question is - flare network send me my Flare FLR 1:1 to xrp on my private cold wallet automatically? Even I’ll close my Bitbay account after I made step by step to up to date my cold wallet but I dont know how to connect my Bitbay account to cold wallet to close it, and be sure to will give my Flare spark tokens.
How can I connect my cold wallet to the BitBay exchange to keep FLR tokens?
What is the amount of xrp required after December 11-12 that you must have on your wallet before June 2021? They say “balance” and then “again” - that is, what was in December, or enough for the fee?
Thank you for help.

Your Flare airdrop will go through BitBay since that's where your XRP was for the snapshot. You can move your XRP wherever you want now and that has no effect on how much FLR you will receive. I would leave your BitBay account open, even if you move all your coins off it, so your can collect your FLR as it becomes available. You can always send the FLR to your own wallet as soon as you receive it.

Hello together,

I got a question i wanted to claim my flare tokens but it doesnt work...

I have an activated paper wallet with all of my funds and i had this wallet long before the snapshot

So on the 12th december i had a functionally paperwallet with x funds

Plus since today i have a ledger nano s

I activated the eth wallet and now i have an eth wallet + keys

Now as i understood as an selfcustodyholder with an paperwallet i just need to go to xrptoolkit paste my walletadress then go to properties enter the ethadress with the 02000... number in front and then i need to click update

But i doesnt work it only shows

"None of your added accounts can sign this transaction"

As i understood i do not need to enter my secret keys anywhere plus i do not need to do a transaction just entering the adress

Please help i cant find anyone online who has the same issue...

Many thanks and greets

Julian

You still need your secret key to sign the transaction to update your memo. I used Weitse's tool, not XRP Toolkit, but usually when you're using XRP Toolkit it creates the transaction and then gives you a QR code to scan to sign with your XUMM wallet (or whatever wallet you're using).

Ok so im just going to try it with xumm....

But i do not need to transact the funds off of my paperwallet right? Just sign the transaction with the secret key?

You might be confused here, friend.

What you are calling a "paper wallet" is just a copy of your secret key.
That's all.

All XRP tokens exist in only ONE place: As records in the XRP Ledger "database."

Even the XRP tokens which exchanges control are ALL on the XRPL.

"Wallets," should really be called key-stores / interfacing tools to the XRPL.

Cheers.

I have an issue setting up Toast wallet account for Spark/Flare airdrop

Just found out Toast Wallet is now a legacy product (discontinued and unsupported!)

Logged into XRPTOOLKIT and tried to set/amend ‘message key’ on XRP-ledger-account (have correct format ETH address needed for SPARK token airdrop)

Update fails with the following message:

            Unable to Sign

You have only added an address and can only view your account. Connect a supported wallet to sign

             transactions.

Does this mean another XRP address MUST be created and then somehow linked/enabled to ‘sign’ changes to the TOAST main XRP account?

2: Can anyone advise as to how to go about doing this?

Of course I have TOAST wallet self-custody info: PIN, pass-phrase, and secret key... but not sure about how to solve/work-round this issue.

Thanks if anyone can help..

How can I check that I am setup with a claim?

Use an explorer to look at your account and see if the address is there. Two are below.  Enter your public XRP address (the ‘r’ string) and it will show that XRP account.

BIThomp:     https://bithomp.com/

XRPscan:    https://xrpscan.com/

@xrpscam kindly said below

(so have a look at that example account and you will see the little flame icon on the set up Spark address)

Look in the account details, and if it is set, you will see the Flare address.   Check it’s correctly recorded the address.

(The XRP scan one I had forgotten the name so @Flintstone kindly advised.)

Hi All & @Flintstone @xrpscan @BillyOckham

Bit confused now....

Noob Question... How can I verify if, when I did follow Wietse Winds instructions successfully, in November 2020, that I wil receive the Flare tokens in the MEW wallet I did setup, according WW-instructions? At the time of snapshot, my XRP-40 XRP (reserve) were in XUMM wallet.

So (MEW) I have a Public address to receive funds (according WW-setup)

On XRPscan, I'm able to verify my claim of FLR (Reserve XRP), on gatehub....

Hope I'm clear enough...Please advice. Much appreciated!

No the Eth wallet is purely just to get an Eth compatible address.  The ETh network and the new Flare network are completely seperate.  Think of them as continents.  You now have an address 12 East St Harbourtown.   That is a valid address in North America and also in UK.

So the ETH wallet is on the USA and the new wallet wallet will be for UK.

You own the address because you own the keys.  You do own the keys don’t you?  The 12 words or 24 words or whatever?

If you don’t own the keys you need to do it again with an address that you DO have the keys for.

When Flare starts up you will get a new software wallet or hardware wallet that is for the Flare continent.  You will create it with the keys that you have from the ETH wallet because the keys match the address.

I performed the procedure to claim my spark tokens on my ledger nano s.  When I checked to confirm the transaction, the flare address was correct, but the spark claim amount says "FLR 0".  Is this correct?  I would like to claim all that I'm entitled to. Shouldn't the spark claim amount be equal to my XRP token balance?

The amount of Flare you will receive is based on a snapshot of the XRP ledger as at 12th December 2000.

I’m guessing you did not have any XRP in that account at that time.

My XRP balance was listed on an exchange (coinbase) on Dec. 12.  I recently switched over to an offline wallet.  Does this matter?

Yes, it's based on where your XRP was on December 12. Coinbase is a participating exchange, they will give you your FLR.
