Renekez
I had my XRP on my Ledger Nano S at the time of the snapshot. The Ledger Nano S is from 2017 and has old firmware. As I understand it, I have to update my Ledger Nano S in order to claim my Flare tokens with the XRP Toolkit (I have connection problems). I'm not doing this since I lost the passphrase of this particular Ledger Nano S. I recently bought a new Ledger Nano S because of the increase in XRP price and value of my stack. This new Ledger Nano S is still empty. Can I claim the Flare Tokens with the new Ledger Nano S by transferring my XRP to this ledger? Or can I claim the Flare tokens in another way (without taking any risk)?
Boodog
Help with claiming my flare tokens. I have created a etherium address on my Nano ledger and have created a message key with it on the xrp toolkit however, when I go to xrp scan I can see the message key is there but it is also saying that I don’t have a flare address registered, does anyone have any thoughts on why this might be ? any suggestions would be appreciated
at3n
@Renekez You can send your XRP to the new Nano, but leave 21 XRP in your old Nano so that you can try the XRP Toolkit method again after updating the firmware. If the firmware update goes wrong and causes you to lose the wallet, then at least you keep your XRP. The Spark must be claimed on the old wallet, but the XRP can be moved away first. Unless you can find (or create) some other tool that works with your version of the firmware, there's no "risk free" way. To be blunt, you're so far from "risk free" already as you don't know your recovery phrase. Very dangerous! You should send the majority of your XRP to the new wallet (or any wallet that you have the keys to) as soon as possible, it doesn't affect your ability to claim spark on the old wallet. at3n
@Boodog Did you modify the ETH address to the correct format required to claim Spark? See the end of this page for precise instructions: https://flare.ghost.io/claiming-spark-faq/
Nooner
I've read through all 7 pages, yet I have a specific situation that I can't quite understand. Since the snapshot was taken, I generated a new 24-word seed on my Ledger Nano S. Can I create the ETH account to collect my FLR on the new seed? Or must I revert to the old seed? When I take the step in XRPtoolkit to connect my wallet, does it matter if I am using the new seed?

Gentle Nooner, you are confusing access credentials to your hardware device and the keys of an ETH account. My guess is no one has the time and/or patience to assist you with getting thru the learning curve of these things. Your best bet for now, while you still lack a full understanding, is to just use either the XUMM app, or the super easy (and recently improved) "FlexXRP" app from the brilliant team at Dev Null Productions - see link:https://www.xrpchat.com/topic/35827-flexrp-a-tool-to-setup-an-xrp-account-for-the-flare-spark-airdrop/ Good luck, friend. Nooner
I appreciate your response, JAS. I do understand the difference between access credentials to the ledger and the keys of an ETH account and it seems easy enough, but I'm not a young buck anymore, and I still get a bit confused with some of the tech, so I want to be sure everything will be compatible. I've been holding tight since 2013 and I have an awful lot to gain/lose. Best to be sure before making a silly mistake, no? Thanks, again. Nooner
Ok, if anyone finds themselves in the same situation as I did, the short answer is YES. You can create the new ETH address under the new seed, save it, and then revert to the old seed when connecting to XRPtoolkit, where you can then connect the 'old' XRP address to the 'new' ETH address for spark tokens that will be accessible from the new seed. It just takes a lot of key pressing and patience. Edited April 17, 2021 by Nooner Global

Thanks. As far as I know Coinbase is one of the participating exchanges. If you had XRP with them on December 12, you will get FLR through them. The airdrop isn't expected to begin until around late June.

It looks like they are not supporting it. If that's where your XRP was on December 12, I think you may be out of luck: https://help.coinsquare.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052948232-Spark-Token-Airdrop-December-12-2020

Warg
Someone posted this on the forum a few weeks ago and didn't get a reply. I ran into the same question. When I look at XRPScan it looks just like the picture below. But when looking at my XRP address on https://livenet.xrpl.org/ it says "account set". "This was really a awesome tool did as per ur instructions and created a new flare key and submitted it also said successful, but when i scan in XRPscan it says flare address not registered set message key, and when i went to xrptoolkit to set where message key is set (the address which your tool generated) so my doubt is whether i need to add this flare key in any wallet, kindly guide me
