Mistake in setting up for Flare Air Drop

Greetings folks. When setting up my message key I used an Ethereum address that had a miniscule amount of tokens in it by mistake. The XRP tool kit tutorial recommended using an empty account. Any suggestions how to fix this? I tried to redo the setup but could not find how to do it.

Thanks for help.

This suggestion is to avoid the possible privacy issue of having the same wallet address on both the Flare AND the Etherium networks.  In other words it is to avoid people knowing that your Etherium and Flare accounts are both owned by the same person.

Its not a problem if you don’t care about that.   Be aware however that the public ledger now and forevermore, (is there such a thing in digital data? Some say yes,  but experience has shown vast amounts of data irretrievably gone as systems change over time,) has the original address as well as the new one if you set a new one.

Having said that... someone would have to do a look back through your transactions to see that older address.  Not hard but not available to a flimsy first look either.

If that is something you would like to address,  then simply redo the messagekey setting with a new Etherium address.  You can write that field over and over with no issues.

The thing to be aware of is that the Spark tokens will NOT be going into your Etherium address.  They are entirely seperate networks.  They share the same address format is all.  So you can have the same address on both networks but the tokens and funds in either one are entirely seperate and not interconnected in any way.

Like Billy said, minuscule (not even a large) amount isn't a technical problem at all, just make sure you're not going to use that ETH account anymore for serious or public actions on the ETH network because it will forever have that indirect link with the same public key you're going to use for the Flare airdrop.
