I can see the xrp in my cold wallet

That's good news Tuna.

Your balance will be memorialized in the 12DEC snapshot, then you have weeks to procrastinate to flag your claim.
There is another drop opportunity - prolly early next year - iirc search on Flare Financial ?
Anyway, you have lots of reading ahead :)

First, make sure your secret key (which you use to import your cold wallet - on Gatehub for example) has 29 characters.  If it doesn't then it's a big problem.  If you wrote your secret key down on paper, it is very easy to make a mistake - for example, writing down the letter O instead of the number 0.  When importing the wallet using the secret key put the visual on so you can see if you typed in the characters exactly right.  It's possible to make a mistake when typing the characters such as a letter doesn't get capitalized.  If they are all correct and you still have no access, then start with likely possible mistakes.  Change the letters o to capital O or zero.  Any letters that might look alike - t and f.  It happened to me and I thought I was as careful as humanly possible.  Luckily, my first correction of a zero to an o did the trick.  I hope you get the huge sigh of relief that I had.   Good luck!

Request help

I put my XRP in a wallet with exarpy.com 2 years ago and have not looked at it since. Now I have a nano X and want to transfer my coins. I put in my 'account verification' on Bithomp.com and I got someone elses account. It was opened in 2014 so I know it's not mine and the balance is WAYYYYY off.

I have tried to go to exarpy.com and sign in with no luck.

I have a binance account and that doesn't work either.  I have my ripple public address, secret key and pin.  What do I do now?

thank you in advance for your help. I am a bit freeked out right now. I am pretty sure I am doing something wrong. Thanks

Someone recently had similar issues with no good result I think.  Maybe you can have better luck.

Here is a reply I did for her about using the Xumm wallet on your phone to get access again.

Have a read of that whole thread first maybe.

Also...  if you are successful and get access again but think you may have entered your secret key into a suspect web site...  use the Xumm wallet to create a new account and transfer the XRP (except for the last 20 which always must remain) into the new wallet so you are sure only you have the key.

Ok...  in XUMM it’s called “+ Add account”.   It’s a blue button.  Click on it.

in the next page select “import existing account”

then select “full access” click next

the next page gives three options to create the walled...  you want “FAMILY SEED”.  Click next.

then type the secret key in (the long string starting with “s”).

[Please note...  that string is the key to the kingdom...  hopefully you would never need to type it into anything again.  Many people are conned into entering it into a scam site and lose their XRP because that key lets the scammers get their funds.  So you do it this once into a trusted app (Xumm) and never again unless you want to change wallets which is probably a bad idea]

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply

I can't send my xrp to xumm because I can't access the website. I didn't put my  pin or s****** key into anything.

When I put my account verification in I got someone else's account.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you

You don’t need to access their website.  If you have the secret key then import it to Xumm as I described and that’s it.  Account accessed.  If it has no XRP in it (as the other persons was empty) then it looks like it’s gone.

Read that whole thread I linked.

Thank you for your response.

UPDATE: I went to the Bithop.com and typed in my address and it came up. The amount was correct. I still haven't figured out how to retrieve it, but it is out there and still safe. I did not use the 'account verification ' code this time.

Good to hear.  Thanks for updating.

Just to let you know...  if you type the symbol @   and then the first characters of the persons name you will get a tag that notifies the person that they were ‘mentioned’.  Otherwise it’s easy to miss a thread where someone speaks to you but doesn’t tag you.

  • 1 month later...

Hi all,

I believe Exarpy used a non standard secret format, consisting of a sequence of 16x a number ranging from 0 to 255. This format isn't supported by any other client I know, but I think we can convert it fairly easy to a normal "family seed" (s...) secret, or secret numbers, supported by XUMM.

If anyone has a low value Exarpy account, and is willing to share the 16x numbers ranging from 0-255 to me in DM, and the expected r-address, I can check if I have the conversion code right (I never owned an Exarpy account, so I can't test my own code, coded based on some assumptions).

If I get this right, I will create and publish a small converter tool to go from Exarpy secret to a wider supported secret, to be used by XUMM or other clients.

My DMs are open.
Yours,

Wietse (founder of XRPL Labs, creator of XUMM)
