According to Wietse's site the total number of xrp in escrow is 48,3 bln.

Compared to xparcade.com, which stopped the count in August (48,8bln in escrows in Aug) this means that between September and October 500mln have been released without returning to escrows. So this makes 250mln per month, a slight increase compared to the recent months.
