Ripple is getting closer to that threshold of exponential growth.  If the economy recovers earlier then expected and an effective method is discovered to deal with Covid 19 outbreaks in subsequent flu seasons, we should see the Ripple's growth take off exponentially. Hopefully it won't take too long after than for XRP's usage and growth rate to reflect a similar behavior if laws are in place globally to deal with XRP once and for all without any legal ambiguities.  

Charles Hoskinson believes that it would take legal jurisdictions around the world up to 10 years to catch up with cryptos so that they can be used globally.  The reason it takes so long is because each county has its own set of laws, legislative priorities, and  bureaucracies that takes time to make such decisions.

So, Ripple's exponential growth in terms of customer adoption of its tech will happen sooner than XRP's adoption, but the former should influence the latter for all countries whose stance on cryptos have already been legally settled.
