I am new to RIPPLE so am still a noob so hope someone can help me out here. I have done some research about the wallet but they seem to need verification, which I don't trust/like. So I just came across this 'cold wallet' thing, and can anyone tell me how to set one up?

And is this a good cold wallet : https://github.com/segrax/xrp-wallet/releases/tag/2

I have some XRP on Poloniex so if you can also tell me if I can just transfer them straight to this cold wallet or how then it is much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm biased, due to being the developer, but i think it is :)

Also realise the documentation is extremely lacking; but its on my TODO list.

FYI: Release 3 is out now, https://github.com/segrax/xrp-wallet/releases/tag/3.1

And a service to submit signed transactions to the network via generated QR Codes: https://binz.io

Thanks for the reply guys,

I am thinking of using the one from rippex.net and would that be a reasonably good desktop wallet? And with that would I be able to withdraw/sent XRP to other wallets easily and without any problems?

Yes, you can create payment transactions offline, save them and submit them (bulk submission if you want) in an online computer.

Yes, we have been trusted by a lot of users for almost three years now. But I work there, so its better if the community can give you this feedback :)

Ok I have just tried downloading the wallet from rippex.net but my anti-virus blocked it saying it is a malware or something?

It is not, the code is opensource and used by many in this community.

I use this wallet, it works and I haven't been hacked.. but I'm not a programmer so I can't see under hood to tell you more than that.

But why does my anti-virus detects it and says it is a malware.gen ? Do you have that as well?

Does your anti-virus detected it as malware pal?
