Recommended Posts

Hey, what's this all about? This account (https://xrpscan.com/account/rJWbox8K4kndimMbqLGaxXf5FXzLk1RrNs) is sending out many small transactions with a memo that stats:

"NETWORK ANNOUNCEMENT: Ripple unlocks 50% stake in XRP, indicates massive airdrop www.*******.com"

IT'S A SCAM

Scammers are trying this method to lure xrp holders to the domain.

It redirects you to a domain with unicode letters that looks like 'ripple.com' but actually has different letters.

It also uses a faked Bithomp site (BithoNp dot com) to steal your secret key if you enter one.

Do not enter your secret keys anywhere. Do not send xrp to strangers, do not download untrusted apps etc.

They've taken this a level up. For 1 XRP they're able to send (1 / 0.000088 + 0.000012) 10,000 scammy payments, and possibly generating as many deposit notifications from exchanges, wallet and tracker apps et al.
